The Alternates:
Each number corresponds with the spot on the board.
For colors: The cover has to be at least 50%
For locations: As long as the book takes part at all in the given location .
For Shelves: Any book on the given shelf
For Publication Years: I'll be using how GR has it's publication date listed.
For Authors Names: The first, middle, or last name of the author is ok.
For Cover Items: Must have the given item on the cover
For Titles: Only the first word of the title. A, An, And, and The do not count.
So if the letter is B: The Best Day would be ok. Dear Betty would not be ok.

Debbie (Doc) | 1496 comments Hi Teamies!

I'm checking in. This is one of my favorite challenges. I prefer not to be captain but will be glad to help. I am looking forward to getting some of my series read! I also signed up for the SS challenge .

Hi Debbie , have signed up for the SS challenge too . This is my first time doing both of the challenges !

Hi Karen,

I just noticed that you posted right before I did. I must not have seen your post so sorry!

I did both once. It isn't so bad especially if you can use a book for both challenges. Ezi says that she is going to allow it. Wouldn't it be funny if we were on the same team!

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

It would :)

Shannon (pokey36) | 1239 comments Hi guys! We don't have a captain? I can do it (I'm pretty sure) if no one else wants it. I did fill in for our team captain during one of my rounds. Don't remember when though.

I do remember thinking we sure did have to read and post reviews pretty quickly though. That's kind of the fun part. :)

That sounds good! Although, my last stint at this, none of my books ever worked for the same rolls - what are the odds right.... I am determined to read different books for each challenge so that I can get some of these series knocked out...

I like Read my lips also.

Review: I'm embarrassed to admit that the huge age difference threw me for the better part of the book. My brain kept picturing a 75 yr old instead of a 50 yr old, I don't know why. Anyhow, Jarod was so lost after losing his Master of 24 years and watching him trying so hard in that shitty club was heartbreaking. Thankfully, Eli showed up. I just loved their first interaction with each other. It was such a dream come true for both of them. And even though the book was about them the other couples we've met throughout the series played a huge roll in this book so it felt like visiting old friends. We got some excellent sex, a bit of angst and a HEA so I'd say just about perfect!

This story takes us away from the two bands we've already been introduced to and adds in one more, the new opening act for Conquest. A group of Scottish rockers all set to tear up the rock world. Enter one of of Julian's old Julliard friends, a virtuoso violinist whose lost his passion for his music. Nicolas "Las" has always enjoyed mixing up his style and not playing strictly classical tunes but somehow picking up his violin has become a chore and the love has been lost.

I enjoyed watching Las rediscover himself and his love of music through Quinn. The story was a little inevitable where it was going to go, but it was fun to see all the boys from Conquest and I liked Las and Quinn together. As is typical of these books it's a little insta-lovey but in this kind of tale it doesn't bother me over much. Everything's just a bit "extra" in the world of rock and roll. Still I liked the new characters introduced and Quinn and Las were very sweet.

Review:

4.5 Stars
This series is quickly becoming my favorite. Book 2 was even better than book 1, and I didn’t think that was possible. I do suggest that book 1 is read first, because this book does tie up quite a bit of loose ends. There are a couple of stories going on, which I really liked. Supporting characters also had a role.

The primary story was Mac and Gina’s. This couple had been best friends for years and finally has gotten together. Mac’s ex-wife comes to town requesting to see their children. Since she has not been around for 10 years, the kids and Mac really aren’t interested. Another side story was Gina’s daughter Ashley who had a major meltdown over a boy. This story was so real and a little scary. Ashley also met her biological dad, Erick. Ashley is one strong young lady.

Sara and Cooper, who were the main characters in book 1, continued with their story. Pressure from Sara’s job created issues along with one of Cooper’s ex. girlfriends. This issue created a life changing event for both Sara and Cooper. Sara’s brother Landon and Mac’s daughter became much closer.

Robyn Carr always ensures that her characters are well developed, and the storyline is always so real. I can almost smell the surf and the sea sitting on the deck of Cooper’s little pub. This is such a heartwarming book. I can’t wait until I get to book 3.

Review:

Persuasion is a Classic and Jane austens last completed work .

With a very well written First chapter which establishes the storyline and the characters very well .

The story is based on a progression of Anne's character from one easily persuaded and very complacent to one who decides to make her decisions and seize love.

All in all a wonderful story full of all of Jane Austen's brilliant characterisations.
