Yash (ysharma) | 96 comments Looking for a buddy read? Have that book you want to start, but also want someone who will discuss with you as it progresses?

- Start off by posting in this thread which book you'd like to read, and when you would like to start.

- You should mention your availability to start reading, how fast you usually read, if you are looking for more buddy readers, and any other information you may deem important.

- Make sure you include a link to the book by using the add book/author link

I would recommend using this thread to gauge interest, and once you have a start date and someone to read with you, you can make a new topic and start discussing.

You can then use the topic you created in Buddy Reads folder to discuss the book with your buddy/buddies as you read.

This is an opportunity for people to read books in tandem and get to know people from across BYOB chapters and discuss to their hearts' content.

Happy reading!

Sure, it is a small book, I can start whenever. Let me know, I can set up the thread to discuss.

Anyone else who has read/wants to read Wide Sargasso Sea, can also chime in.

Ha! I might take this up 10 books or so later. I could not finish City of Djinns the first time I tried!

Not 10 books. I have just picked up Hamlet. Will be followed by The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair, then I'm picking either Shiva Trilogy or City of Djinns

Varun Vasudev | 81 comments Hey,

Terry Pratchett
Since there are over 40 books in the series, would love some company to discuss them with, and also to get me to read on and finish the series

I can polish off around 50 pages a day , more if i've got less work on my hands, so if anyone's interested do let me know

Thanks

I'm mostly butting in to share this handy reading order guide just in case you don't already know it :)
http://www.lspace.org/books/reading-o...
Besides, that this has actually been on my to-read list for a while. However, I don't see myself being up to reading the entire lot at once. I have read Color of Magic, though, and might be getting to Mort, soon. So maybe I can join in for that one? I must warn you, my pace is really slow, though - just manage 20-30 pgs a day.

Ashwin Thippeswamy (slashwing) | 1 comments Hey, all.
I've currently embarked on a Neil Gaiman spree, and was wondering if anyone would like to join me. I've finished Coraline and am working my way through American Gods. I plan to read Stardust, Neverwhere, The Graveyard Book next. Not necessarily in that order though.

I don't see myself reading the entire lot at once either. But i do plan on finishing it (or at least half of it), this year. You can definitely join in whenever :)

message 16: by Shivam (new)

Shivam Kalra (thatwriterfromdelhi) | 41 comments so no one for City Of Djinns then?

How about Shiva Trilogy? Now don't judge me, the only reason I haven't picked the book yet is because all the covers have a remark "Amish is India's Tolkien" on them and that absurdity is holding me back from even reading one book by him

message 21: by Yash (new)

Yash (ysharma) | 96 comments Nikita and I are planning to buddy read The French Lieutenant's Woman by John Fowles in the near future. We have yet to set a reading speed or start date.

Is anyone else interested in joining us?

message 22: by Nikita (new)

Nikita Nautiyal | 63 comments Hello yash I thought I adjusted pretty well with you last time ! I mean the reading speed rather waited for you to finish. Will be more specific this time ,with how much to read each day .

Actually, you do have a point. It's difficult to set a an artificial stop point during the reading, because something interesting might be happening and you just want to go on and on. We'll just try to keep a similar pace as much as possible and if we go out of synch, then wait for the other person to catch up and discuss. What say you?

Hi Jaya, I am setting up the thread now. We are tentatively planning to start in a day or two and not going to read too fast. Is that convenient for you? Feel free to join us.
