You're evil. There's a special place in Hell reserved for book eaters, child molesters and people who talk during movies.
Hello, I am Utkarsh. I read way too many books in parallel. Also, I'm about as mainstream as it gets. And I'm a bit like Abed from Community in the sense that I see the world as a collection of movie/tv/book references.

You have me beat.

Hi Jaya, it's great of you to join us here. Feel free to come by our meets and join our facebook group as well to keep track of upcoming stuff.

Hello and welcome!
Please tell me you can do telekinesis.

You just need to add Ra's al Ghul in there somehow and life will be perfect.

There is this brunchbookchallenge on twitter by Hindustan Times where you read the books and tweet.
Well, I won that in 2014 ;)
PS:

Lenny here.
New to Goodreads, but not to good reads - sorry, couldn't resist that :P
I've been reading since I discovered Enid Blyton's Amelia Jane at age 4. I'm partial to horror, magic realism and dark humour, but I will gobble up practically anything that's well written, genre be damned.

Drop by our various discussion threads and see if anything catches your interest.
Also check out our website and social media for upcoming events and meetups.

I begun reading quite recently especially the first book that i read was based on American Mafia. But since then I have got engrossed in reading.
My favorite genres are crime, thriller and historical fiction. But i am keen on reading book written by Indian authors
Hi Karishma here.
I live to read . :DD
I read most genres of books except dark , taboo and horror.
Right now I'm revisiting Agatha Christie.

If you live in Delhi, Bombay or Bangalore, you should definitely come attend one of our meets.

We can't miss this opportunity to have recommendations on Swiss literature! We all know Johanna Spyri and Hermann Hesse! What else is there?

There are also a number of commendable books by contemporary Swiss authors that have been translated into English such as

Thanks a ton Daniel! Looking forward to reading these!

Hey! This is Mayank from Bombay... I love reading (obviously), except from erotica, romance and YA I can read pretty much anything... even the paper used for packing food.
Beside reading I like travelling in my head because in reality I rarely get holidays, I love attending concerts... I love rock and heavy metal music.
I spent most of my evening brooding over tea and cigarettes, talking about some books or movies.

Guess some of you could be interested in the profession that Managers practice, Management (not business merely). Would love to have your feedback on my book, Ascent: A Practising Manager's Growth Mantra' published by Random House India.
Ascent: A Practising Manager's Growth Mantra

I've been lurking, and reading posts on this forum for some time now .. never posted anything until now.
So this is me - Janhavi, from Mumbai, saying Hey everyone.
Loved the concept of BYOB, and would definitely love to join in whenever there is a meetup in Mumbai.
Trekking, and reading are two of my favourite-est things. Opposite ends, I know. So on a weekend you'll find me either wandering somewhere in the hills around Mumbai, or curled up with a book (and a cup of tea, with Pink Floyd playing in the background).

@Janhavi, there are regular meetups in Bombay. Check out the chapter's website. http://mumbai.bringyourownbook.org/
They have a sign up form there. There is also a facebook group that you can join.

I have like 26 books in my 'read' bookshelf :P That's how infrequent a reader I am. But, I am trying hard to build a good reading habit. Amongst the limited set of authors I have read, I enjoy the works of Maya Angelou, Jhumpa Lahiri, Khaled Hosseini, Dan Brown and more recently Azar Nafisi. Looking forward to some amazing recommendations and stimulating discussions. Cheers!!

Have attended two BYOB meets, enjoyed being a part of both.
Have just joined Goodreads, too. I know, quite late, right? :D
I usually read Romance and Chick Lit but now exploring other genres.
I'm a writer so am also a member of the BYOB Writers Club on FB.
Look forward to interacting with you all. :)

New to BYOB (recommended by a friend). Haven't attended a meet yet but looking forward to it. :)
Used to read humor and thrillers, but now exploring other genres.
Hoping to meet some wonderful people and amazing recommendations. See you people soon.
Cheers!

Thanks!! I have sent a request to join the facebook group, and also followed @BYOBIndia on twitter.

I am Bedanta. I am quite an introvert and also can be described as one among those people who try there best to stay out of any kind of social gathering which demands formalities and other obligations. And hence, I read books; as it opens you to an amazing and a huge world where possibitlies are many and absurdities are none.
I am extremely reserved and limited when it comes to reading books, on one hand I'd love to read books of Albert Camud or Thomas Hardy but I wouldn't want to read new Indian authors like Ravinder Singh or Chetan Bhagat, but at the same time I love Neel Mikherkee or Jhumpa Lahiri. That being said, I hope to have a beautiful time here.

I have attended just one BYOB meet till now (the queer literature meet last week) and had a great time! That's saying something since I'm an introvert and usually avoid large gatherings. Look forward to interesting conversations :)

In the past one year have got a massive hunger for them...so started once again with Forsyth, Kafka, Christie, Fyodor, Orwell, Murakami...have read 20+ books in last one and half year alone...
Currently reading 2 books.
1) 1984 by George Orwell while travelling to and fro from office.
2) Shelock Homles stories at Home.

Read about BYOB in a newspaper article a few weeks ago, thought it would be a good idea to see how such a community works here.
I usually prefer to read non-fiction, specifically about new developments in various fields, though for leisure I sometimes turn to fantasy.

I am from Bangalore and I was really pleased to stumble upon BYOB. I have been meaning to drum up a book club with a few friends myself but the effort has been mostly in vain. So, it was such a pleasant surprise to chance upon BYOB. I am not on facebook (Meh - and takes away from valuable reading time) but I'd love to know when the next Bangalore meet is planned.
Eagerly awaiting my first meet! Cheers.

I am Anushka and I live to read books. my favourite genre are fiction, fantasy, contemporary, romance and young adult.
I hope to meet some amazing people here.

I am Pallavi. I am a book worn as they call it. I love reading, and love collecting books. Probably will go bankrupt in future due to spending on books. I read parallely many books. My first book that I read was 'The Wizard of Oz' in class fourth and ever since I feel incomplete without having read something in the entire day.

Unlike the others on this group, I'm not a bookworm- only human, although I honestly am trying to read more.
Now did I just find a real life book club for Mumbai or is my eyes seein' things? :O This club seems swell.

You're not as alone as I think. So many people joined simply because they wanted to read more.
