Not an official read-a-thon, but thought I would throw it out there - Saturday starts the first Dewey Read-A-Thon for the year - you can see more at http://www.24hourreadathon.com
basically, its dedicated to Dewey, who was a fairly prolific blogger, who died in 2008. The read-a-thon is held twice a year, in April and October.
you can sign up on the website to participate - unfortunately, because of constraints you need to have a blog to "officially" participate - you can sign up to be a cheerleader (1 hour blocks of time, where you visit the blogs of people participating, cheer them on, tweet about it etc).
I'm going to try it - I know I won't make the 24 hours, but we'll see
I just saw this now. My wife and I participate in this and have been doing since almost the beginning. I have yet to make the 24 hours, but, keep trying :)

I haven't made the whole 24 yet either, but did beat my record this last time with 22 hours!
