What did you think of the ending where Father Keller not only gets away but isn't being sought for the crimes?

Phrynne | 607 comments That the author wants to bring him back later in the series:)

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments I thought the authorities had all lost track of him, and knew his trail was cold. It was an odd ending to this story, wasn't it? I wondered if the author was still throwing out red herrings to the end.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 7669 comments Mod
I hated this ending. It was sloppy and weak. Yes, Phrynne, a set up for another story. And Stucky escaping? Another weak device.

Phrynne | 607 comments Someone else does this to their heroine - bringing back the baddies to have another go later. Is it Patricia Cornwell?

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 7669 comments Mod
Don't know. I let that series lapse many years ago. In this case, she put two baddies in play. That's a new one:)

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments I would have been satisfied if they had caught Father Keller. I hate these open-ended stories. I assume he'll be back again later.

I didn't understand why Maggie didn't have the police meet Keller's connecting flight in Florida when he was accompanying Father Francis' body to Venezuela.

When Maggie was told that Stucky escaped and was given a wooden crucifix by a visiting priest which he used to incapacitate his guards, I thought it was Keller. Guess it wasn't since we know he Keller was still in Venezuela.

I agree, Robin, about the police meeting Keller's plane in Florida. Maybe if she engaged her boss earlier they could have helped her and Nick.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments Again.. only click if you want to know about Father Keller - (view spoiler)

Again, I clicked:) Thank you.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments Those spoiler tags are very seductive...

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments I succumbed to that seduction. Thanks, Lauren (I think).

Sure thing!

Melissa (melissasd) | 194 comments Not surprised. Maggie is the only one who believed that he had anything to do with it. They may have been able to catch him in Florida, but did they have enough on him? They would have needed Timmy to say something. Phrynne - it is Patricia Cornwell who does this. I rolled my eyes when Stucky escaped. Of course he did! And with a priests help.

Mary Beth | 193 comments I made a comment to this earlier that it made the book weak, never have I read a book where the killer gets away. I was so mad. Cooooome on! Bad Ending! I am looking forward to reading the next one because I do like Maggie.

Mary Beth | 193 comments I clicked after I commented and thought that, that might happen.
