Peer review groups are established in this Goodreads group to provide authors with fair reviews of their work. Most groups schedule two reviews for each participant's work. The moderators understand that outside world commitments can make it difficult for participants to complete their reviews on schedule.
Reviewers who are going to be late are expected to either post to the peer review group topic or to contact the author and/or the moderator to let them know about the delay.
If a reviewer fails to complete a review without contacting the author and/or moderator, he or she may be excluded from future peer review groups at the moderator's discretion.
If a reviewer fails to complete both reviews in a peer review group, the reviewer will be contacted for an explanation. If the reviewer fails to respond or the response is insufficient, his or her membership in the Genre Specific Review Groups may be terminated at the moderator's discretion. In addition, any reviews received by the offending participant through the peer review group may be removed so that this practice that is unfair to other participants is not be encouraged.
This rule is in place to assure that everyone receives fair treatment and are not taken advantage of by unscrupulous people who want reviews for their own work but are not willing to put in the effort to reciprocate.
