I think everyone knows me from the original group on Shelfari, but I'll give a little introduction. I'm a 63 year-old librarian, originally from New England but for the last dozen years in Lehi, Utah. I majored in philosophy at Columbia and twenty years later at the University of Southern Maine where I got my degree. I'm single with no children and somewhat out of place in a Mormon city, and have never had a television set, so I tend to spend much of my time reading and talking about books online. My main interests are in non-fiction and classic and literary fiction; I tend to read in "projects" and one constant is trying to read the Nobel winners in literature, the current year and then going backwards -- but I never seem to get very far back before the next winner is announced. I'm not a Twitter person -- I have a hard time keeping anything short, and my reviews tend to be longer than anyone else's; but I am trying!

hey there - i'm kathi (catalina la estrella on shelfari). I studied translation (german-spanish-english). I've been a bit lazy with the group over the last year but with the merging and all I feel kind of motivated to a fresh start and more interaction based on my greatest love - books :)
I'm also from the Shelfari group, but am also on several groups here. I love book challenges and there are lots here. I am a retired college librarian; the liberal arts reference librarian at a technical college. I am still connected with libraries, being on the Friends group and volunteering at my local library.
My husband and I are both retired and do a bit of traveling and cruising, hiking and babysitting our grandson. We are in the process of downsizing for a spring move to one level living. Weeding the book collection is the hardest part!
I read broadly in fiction and a limited amount of nonfiction, mostly history and biography with other areas based on reviews I pick up on my book sites.

I'm addicted to reading, and to my husband's chagrin, collect far more books than I could possibly read in my lifetime. He continues to buy them for me anyway. lol I'm partial to history (American and UK in particular), historical fiction, mystery/police procedurals, medical/forensic, biography/memoir, cookbooks and anything by Diana Gabaldon. I've been known to read and enjoy any genre except horror. I also enjoy travel, gardening, cooking/baking and handwork of all types. Married 42 years with 3 adult children and 8 grandchildren ranging in age from 6- to 24-years-old. While I've lived all my life in Connecticut, I've visited all but five of the United States as well as England, France and Canada.

I am Leah. I have lived in Colorado my entire life, 30+ years. I have been married for 8 years, and we've been together for 12 years. We have two children, one who passed away (but would have been 3 years old this week) and a one year old. We also have two cats named Pi and Zaphod. I am a stay-at-home mom and my toddler keeps me quite busy! I also volunteer at a local history museum when I can. I only gained a love of reading when I was a teenager but haven't stopped since. I read A LOT of non-fiction of all sorts but also enjoy a good novel here and there. I also enjoy knitting, cross stitching, video games, coloring, whatever tickles my fancy for the week.

Hi everyone, I'm Tanya. I wasn't part of this group on Shelfari, but every year I set a page goal. I think this will be a nice place to do so here at GR. I have loved books since I was young and my parents read to me. Other things about me: the adorable dog in my picture is Tanner. I'm a zookeeper. I obviously love animals. In addition to reading I enjoy crochet, hiking, and long complicated/cooperative boardgames.

Hi everyone, I'm Sophia. I used to be a member of this group on Shelfari, but I lapsed as I found I was using Goodreads much more. Now Bookworms has moved to Goodreads I'm looking forward to joining in again.I'm 42, from the UK, and when I'm not at work I usually have my nose in a book. I try to make an effort to read as widely as I can, and I'll read just about any and all genres. I remember this group for having some great reading challenges so that should help keep things interesting for 2016!

Am Meike, have been on Shelfari (think my nick there was Methinks or something like that) but since my company blocked that site I have been using Goodreads - so glad you moved over here!Am 36yo, German but living in the UK, married to an Englishman. I usually read fiction - all genres apart from Zombies, right now I am glued to GoT (the books, the TV Series is missing too much detail, as usual) - they are mahooosive, so am not reading much else unfortunately. But that obviously doesnt stop me to add more and more to my to-be-read list :)

Hello! I am a Shelfari member as well and I believe I was MelissaD over there. I'm really glad you decided to move the group here. It was one of my more active groups and the one I would have missed the most. I'm 39 (almost 40) and have been married for almost 19 years (July). My husband and I have 2 beautiful girl (15 and 7 years of age). We are animals lovers who own 4 dogs and 2 cats. I am an Emergency Medical Dispatcher for the local hospital owned ambulance service and absolutely love it. I am an avid reader and enjoy YA, kids fiction and mystery/suspense the most.

Hello everyone! I'm Marcia and was a member of this group on Shelfari but drifted away. I know the merger wasn't popular with all, but it's nice to see the group here at Goodreads.I'm a 68-year-old retired Administrative Assistant living just north of Boston. Thanks to aging eyes. I do the bulk of my reading on Kindle where I can control the type size. When I'm not reading, you'll see the knitting needles in my hands. The combination of my TBR and streaming video queues will ensure a long life filled with enjoying my grandson and good long sits.

I've not participated much on this Shelfari group this last year, but looked in on things once in while. I do have a page goal that I track. I'm reading across most genres - anything goes as long as its well written and tells an interesting story. I love how these book groups have broadened my reading scope.

Hello! Thank you for starting the group over here on Goodreads. I am Vickie, aka IYamVixen. Loved to read since I was three, constantly have three books going at any given time: one in the purse for standing in line or quiet times at work, one on the Nook for bedtime or gym, and an audiobook in the car for the commute. Live in Colorado and have done since '01. Married since then and have a daughter who's apple didn't fall far from my tree. She also writes books as much as she reads them.

I'm Tessa (Book Concierge or BC for short). I was born and raised in Texas, but have lived in Wisconsin since I came to Marquette University and fell in love with winter. I'm married, no kids, no pets. I work in healthcare administration for a group of pediatric surgeons, and volunteer in my community as a member of the board at my local library, the Skylight Music Theatre, and the Lakefront Festival of Arts. In addition to reading I enjoy gardening, theater (especially music theater), and cooking (and eating).
Hi, I have been lurking for a few days and thought I had better introduce myself! I was on shelfari but never a member of the Paging all Bookworms group. I see a lot of familiar names from shelfari so I thought I would join the group. I have been active on Goodreads for over a year now so happy to help out with any questions on how to use it.I'm originally from Australia but moved to London, U.K. 17 years ago. I'm married to an Englishman, have 2 lovely girls (8 & very soon to be 6) and a bunny rabbit called Bertie. I'm a qualified Accountant but have recently moved into process improvement which is what I enjoy the most.
I love all genres in reading but my absolute favourite is mystery and suspense and in particular historical mystery.

Hey, Wyshona D. Lawson here (spiffyshona from Shelfari and the Paging all Bookworms group). I am very happy to see that this group has continued here. I am a teacher for 11th and 12th grade English and part time adjunct instructor at three colleges. I love to read, and I spend quite a bit of my life reading books! I have a niece and a nephew who are my life. Feel free to add me as a friend!
As the others have said, I'll just reintroduce myself. I'm 66 (almost 67) years old and retired. I worked as the administrator of a medical records department for 36 years, always wishing I had more time to read. Now I have lots of time (but still not as much as I need) and belong to 6 different book groups at my local library and have a hard time working in the books I just want to read for fun! I'm married and have 5 children and 6 grandchildren--who also keep me busy. I love to read everyone's comments and reviews but I'm a bit of a lurker so rarely post anything other than my reviews as I finish my reads. I'm hoping I can figure out how to post here as comfortably as I did at Shelfari!
I'm Mrs. K from Shelfari. I'm a teacher and don't have as much time to read during the school year as I would like. I have always been a total bookworm and like to read almost anything, but especially like mysteries of any kind.

I've found you on Goodreads. I'm Sheila. I read all different genres. I just retired on New Year's Eve. I haven't done much cleaning around the house yet but I have done a lot of reading. When I am not reading you might find me at Painting With a Twist, doing counted cross-stitch, watching old black and white movies on TCM, cooking, baking, shopping, dining out, watching hockey or baseball, book clubs,or just plain loafing. And yes, I love the Oxford comma!

Like most of you, I am a displaced Shelfarian. I am still trying to get used to things here on Goodreads (although my son had me make an account here years ago; I never used it.) I am mostly a lurker. I like to read what everyone has to say but don't often comment. I was a middle school math teacher until I had to retire two years ago for medical reasons. I have four grown children and three grandchildren. I quilt and crochet a LOT. I travel around Texas selling geeky crochet stuff at comic cons and absolutely love it. I read a little bit of everything but love fantasy, sci-fi, and a good mystery/suspense.

Hi!I'm Jenn. I've followed over from Shelfari, where I was mostly a lurker. Which I will probably be here as well, as I'm having difficulty acclimating. I'm a homeschooling mom to 4 kids who keep me pretty busy. My reading has changed quite a bit through the years. Nowadays my reading tends to be lighter fare with YA, children's books, cozies and chick lit with a bit of mystery/suspense mixed in. I've also been trying to throw in a classic or two each year.

Hi, I'm Melinda. I just changed my avatar so it is the same as the one from Shelfari. I joined Shelfari and Good Reads at the same time and found that I liked Shelfari better. I can't remember the last time I did anything on Good Reads . . . guess I'll have to figure it out. Anyhow, I have been off and on with BookWorms for quite a while. My reading tendencies have changed a lot over the past few years. I look forward to staying in touch with my buddies from Shelfari. Thank you for continuing with the group! Very briefly, I am a retired teacher of adults and a new clinic administrator at Therapeutic Wellbeing (chiropractic, massage, and acupuncture). I have three wonderful children and an awesome husband. I live in (what is considered) northern Ontario in Canada. Today I don't like the snow much since I had to spend too much time shovelling.
