Around the Year in 52 Books discussion

I have this as my week 5 read - a book with a title beginning with the 1st letter of your name. I thought this would be an interesting and different read.

I read this for a challenge a couple years ago. I had zero interest in the book and actually dreaded having to start it. So imagine my surprise when I actually enjoyed it! A lot! It was definitely different than anything else I've read.

I loved this book and cried at the end.

I just finished this book and really enjoyed it. I enjoyed the story being told by the dog. I admit i also teared up at the end.

Okay, these 4- and 5-star ratings make me want to see what the fuss is about! I was about to click the tab closed, but decided against it :)

I started reading this a few days ago for week 39 "a previous suggestion" - I chose the animal as a main character as the topic that didn't make it into this year's challenge.

So far I'm enjoying it. I'm about a third of the way through, and I'm looking forward to the rest.

Oh, God, I loved this book, but the tears... the tears!

Oh man, right in the feels....

I really enjoyed this book. But it definitely gets your emotions going. I think more than anything I felt anger because of (view spoiler)[ the grandparents. The whole situation was terribly sad and then they way the grandparents behaved... I mean who does that!? (hide spoiler)]

Totally worth a read though if only for the witty and sarcastic tone the narrator uses so often. I think one of my favourite scenes was when the (view spoiler)[zebra dismembered itself, lol. I loved that explanation and can relate to it as I have a number of items around my house that have met the same end while my dog was on watch. (hide spoiler)]

I just finished this book, and although I liked it, I don't think I connected with it as strongly as most others have. I am usually a sucker for dog stories (Homeward Bound was one of my favourite movies growing up!), but this one was very different.

Enzo was an interesting narrator, seeming so human at times that I think forgot he was a dog. I especially liked the chapters dealing with all the family drama, but I was not very interested in the sections that focused primarily on racing. It was expected given the title, but it is not a topic that really appeals to me.

I loooooved Homeward Bound as a kid and must have watched it 50 times! ;)

Homeward Bound is based on the Canadian book The Incredible Journey that is set in Ontario. It is a beautiful story.

I'm starting this book today for the 2017 Challenge- a book with an animal on the cover. I can't decide if I'm excited or dreading this a little. I've heard it's really well written but I hate when bad things happen to animals :(

I finished this last night and while it ended a tad weakly and my hard-heart didn't cry, I really enjoyed it! It's the perfect example of a bittersweet book. It gets very sad but the joy inherent in it keeps you reading. Enzo is an amazing narrator and too precious.

Sure, it's a bit of a sappy and pandering novel but it's well written and cute and a nice reprieve from my normal gritty reading list.

I started this book last week and after 4 pages in, I was already crying. I was afraid I would be bawling my eyes out for the entire book. Thankfully that didn't happen. There were definitely a lot of tear-provoking moments. However there was also humor. An overall touching book with a dog who reminds us of humanity. I gave it 5 stars but then again I'm a bit biased because I'm sensitive when it comes to animals. I've started talking to my dog more since I read this book.

I read for 2019 Week 52: a weird or intriguing title

I had no idea what this book would be about. Certainly intriguing.
