Kylematsen This is where we are gonna post our ideas.

Ryan.Phelan How does my writer begin the tour of the storyworld: She begins it by explaining how Bridge, an accident survivor, questions why she is still living. Also, she lives in a lively city someplace that is not known yet.

Ryan.Phelan What point of view is this novel written in, why? The first chapter was written in third person limited because she wanted the reader to focus in on one person, so we can meet her. Also, third person limited does not get in to the character's feelings, so it keeps the reader guessing.

Ryan.Phelan The writer triggers mood through the character's actions and relationships. When Bridge is accepted with open arms in the tech club, it creates a mood of optimism. I think Rebecca Stead created this mood because Bridge is kind of an outcast, and this gives her hope to find new friends.

Kylematsen The writer uses good tone on page 46. The subject is whether the moon landing was faked or not. The tone is curiosity. Stead makes this tone by using many question marks. It is important to the reader to understand the tone so they can get the full message in the passage.

Kylematsen The setting and character determine this stories genre. First of, the setting is in a small town in a big city which is realistic. Secondly, the character are relatable, and are in situations that kids are in everyday. Almost everything in the book is real. One thing that is exaggerated is that kids take weird pictures of their knees and ankles and send them to their friends. In addition, the think the moon landing was staged.

Ryan.Phelan Bridge's accident is left ambiguous. This is left ambiguous because the writer only gives us a brief summary and not what exactly happened. The writer does this because Bridge does not like to talk about the accident, and the writer wants the reader to decide on their own and make up their own ideas.

Kylematsen This story world takes place in present time North America. This story world came to be, because the main character, Bridge, was in a death defying car accident. In the world there are busy roads everywhere, and that is how Bridge got hit by a car. She lives in a small town in the suburbs. In this story world most of the action takes place in the school, the bean bar, and Tab's house.

Ryan.Phelan In the book "Goodbye Stranger" by Rebecca Stead, a girl can either skip school or go to school on Valentine’s Day. She decides to skip school because she needs a “mental health” day. The storyworld impacts the consequences by many people in this town knows her, so she has to “jump through loops” in order to stay hidden and safe, so her parents don’t find out.

Kylematsen In the book Goodbye Stranger Em decides to takes pictures of herself in a bra. This reveals that she is rebellious and selfish.

Ryan.Phelan Celeste is the one who skipped school
Sherm sends all the letters
Em gets to sing at the talent show
Bridge learns that Sherm was the one in the Zoo- Buggy

He used an open ending/resolved ending. The conflict is almost resolved, but their is room for multiple interpretations. This is because he never tells what happens because of the resolution, so the reader can interpret what happens for some of the conflicts.

Kylematsen The ending of this book is great compared to the rest of the book. Stead resolves the conflict, but leaves some parts ambiguous. The part the reader doesn't know is what Sherm's grandpa does with the letters. We don't know if he just throws them out or cry's while reading them, it is left for interpretation. The rest of the conflicts are resolved in a good way. All in all, Stead did a great job of resolving the conflict, yet leaving room for interpretation.
