I never thought I would struggle so much as I did reading this. I felt I need to be told how to read the poems to get their true meaning. Dean mentioned something that perhaps was true that poetry is meant to be read aloud and not in your head. Did anyone else find this?

I picked up some great suggestions for reading and writing poetry from this book:
In the Palm of Your Hand: The Poet's Portable Workshop

Definitely easier to interpret when read aloud. Kate tempest great example.

I read some of the poems out aloud and did find this helped me appreciate the language.

It didn't cross my mind to read any aloud, I will try this in future, interesting tip thanks.
