“It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains.”

So begins Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, an expanded edition of the beloved Jane Austen novel featuring all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie mayhem. As our story opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton—and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she’s soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers—and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield. Can Elizabeth vanquish the spawn of Satan? And overcome the social prejudices of the class-conscious landed gentry? Complete with romance, heartbreak, swordfights, cannibalism, and thousands of rotting corpses, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies transforms a masterpiece of world literature into something you’d actually want to read.

Natália Lopes (silkcaramel) I was a little discouraged to read this book, because I love the original so much and I didn't wanted to ruin it for me. Put since I watched the trailer,I had to put it on my TBR list,it looks amazing and badass and funny! I'm giving it a try!

I know right? I never thought I would read this one, but the trailer looks so good and I love the cast so I'm at least going to try it. I've listened to the first chapter and it is kind of funny. It's like the book except Dad is worried about the zombie apocalypse.

I read the White Rabbit Chronicles aka Alice in Zombieland series and I liked it, but I try to stay away from zombies and books that are overall too violent and dark.

I really enjoyed this book, much more than I thought I would. I listened to the audiobook, narrated by one of my favorite narrators- Katherine Kellgren. Her accents are absolutely fabulous. She was the perfect choice and really contributed to my enjoyment of the story.

If you love paranormal YA, Zombies and or Jane Austin you probably will enjoy this one too. I’m not a fan of violence and gore so there was some parts I didn’t listen to, but it wasn’t that bad.

It’s a twisted parody of Jane Austin’s Pride and Prejudice where is it valued to be trained in "The Deadly Arts" and to be a great slayer of zombies. "There was no denying Darcy's talents as a warrior."

“Your daughter's fortune is indeed splendid. But pray tell, what
other qualities does she possess? Is she fetching? Is she trained in the
deadly arts? Has she even strength enough to lift a Katana?" Elizabeth speaking to Lady Catherine.

I love the eloquent and sensible way they speak about the horrors of Zombies too.

"Mr. Bingley observed the desserts his poor servants had been attending to at the time of their demise-a delightful array of tarts, exotic fruits, and pies, sadly soiled by blood and brains, and thus unusable."

“Has everyone gone mad?" thought Elizabeth. Can no one see that she is nine-tenths dead from the plague?"

I love Lilly James and I can't wait to watch the movie.

Natália Lopes (silkcaramel) My copy arrived today! I'm excited! Also,I learned it's a book series,so if I enjoy this one I'll certainly get the other ones!

I saw that it it's a series. I'm sure you will like it. Like I said, I didn't think I would. I thought I would have rated it with 2 stars, but it suprised me. I hope the book version is as good as the audio. Have fun and keep us posted.
