We can post news and thoughts in this thread.

As of now the Unhappy Ones are still collecting the nominations. The Nuclear Ones are beginning to post the totally-not-recommendations.

The great news so far is that Andy Weir is eligible for the Campbell (it's a 2-year window). It's super cool because A. he deserves it and B. all the people moaning how the Doggies denied him the nomination last year will now have nothing to say.

Annnd it's on! Andy Weir has been asked to repudiate the certain undesirable who had suggested him for a nomination, and refused to do so. Good for him. I want to see the gerbils trow fits at someone who has become an inspiration to struggling authors everywhere. Let them try.

Wow! Can you say who the undesirable is? Or where can I read about this? Who would have the colossal b*lls to approach Andy Wier?

Nevermind, I found out. I still can't believe the pettiness and bullying that goes on.

The leader of the "Nuclear" Puppies came out with suggestions for Best New Writer, and Weir was on the list.

Of course, as the saying goes, the politics is about to get involved with him. But considering he's a huge success with a Hollywood movie, they can do exactly squat to his career. Poor babies.

I went to the person in question's blog. Then I clicked on the link and read a few comments. I felt like I was lurking among snakes.

Other commenters were saying Wier should be asked again. These people have way too much time on their hands.

Imagine if they keep bothering Wier and just average people who loved the movie--not even readers--find out. These SJWs will be hated and rightfully so.

Haha you could say that. This year I intend to sit back and eat tons of popcorn. This should be great.

Even though I don't know all the inner workings, I'm fascinated by this... I will be munching right along with you!

They already spent a year harassing Jim Butcher (who spent a year telling them to leave him alone, in no uncertain terms). They haven't learned.

But the important news is that our own Declan Finn has a good chance of ending up on the list of the "Unhappy" Puppy nominations, both as an author and as a fan writer.

That is really great. Good for him :-)

Wow. That's too bad... however, I still think they could be burned if they treat Weir the same way. Because of the movie. My whole family has seen the movie but would never read the book.

If word got out that the author was being harrassed by SJWs, whom many people have no patience with right now, these bullies might get a big surprise.

Why wouldn't they read the book? The movie is great, but not as good as the book. It had to be shortened and censored, and the ending was slightly modified (I know why, but it took some flavor away).

I don't know why... my sister marches to her own drummer in reading material. I can barely get her to read my books. And MY BIL doesn't read at all. However, both enjoyed the movie.

Same with my niece & her boyfriend. They don't read. My other niece reads, but prefers dead tree books, & doesn't have a library card. It's complicated. But they all liked the movie, & they all hate these bullying SJWs.

Declan (apiusmannovel) | 22 comments Look at the bright side. The only high point of the Hugos will be driving them all INSANE.

Though in my case, I'll take a Larry Correia book bomb for being on the Sad Puppies list. :)

"Unhappy" Puppies Recommendations are up. Congrats to our member Declan for getting multiple recommendations.
http://sadpuppies4.org/sp4-recommenda...

"Destructive" Puppies preliminary recommendations are up on the Supreme Dark Blog, with the final ones coming out on Monday.

I will be reviewing both lists to pick the ones I'm actually familiar with. If you have $50 to swing for the MidAmericon II membership, there may still be time to register in time to nominate.
