New to Play Book Tag? Please Introduce Yourself

Hi, Susie. I am happy to see new faces. We all love to read!

Welcome, Susie! I hope you enjoy this group as much as I have for the past 8 years. Wonderful fun.

Hi Susie, Welcome to Play Book Tag. If you love to read, you are in a good place to talk books and your "to-be-read list" will grow exponentially.

Welcome to PBT, Susie! If you have any questions about how things typically run here, please feel free to ask! I look forward to reading your reviews and seeing your "face" around here :)

Hi Rina! Welcome to the group.

So nice to meet you, Rina! I hope you enjoy getting to know our group. We look forward to hearing about what you are reading!!

So so happy you made it here, Susie! I know you and I will be sharing great dark edgy reads for years to come!!

Welcome! Any friend of Anita's is a friend of ours :).

Welcome :)!

I'm Elizabeth and I'm from Alaska. I use that () because I was (and am) a member of a challenge group here and that helps to differentiate me from all of the other Elizabeth's. I have been an active member of Goodreads since 2009. I read variously, but mostly classics and contemporary fiction, and also wander around occasionally in other areas too.
I need more time to explore this group, but am looking forward to learning more about you and the books you read.
(And a shout-out to Book Concierge, who is one I follow on GR and who writes really interesting reviews!)

For those of you who don't know, Elizabeth was one Goodreads member who very, very patiently answered my many, many questions as I tried to set up our group. She was really instrumental in helping resolve some of the more confusing elements!
So I invited her to see the results of her input and assistance!! So happy you stopped by, Elizabeth!!
And of course, Book Concierge is a very valued member here who participates regularly at Play Book Tag with great enthusiasm!

I love Goodreads even though I know it's not perfect (sort of like my husband who is not perfect but perfect for me). I'm happy to do what I can to help make Goodreads a more perfect home to you.

We will love to see you participating here! This whole "move" has made me realize that we have quite a few silent followers! I had no idea, but of course will be very delighted to get to know you better.

Good to see you here and thank you for your kind help in Goodreads Feedback https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/... , I'm pretty sure it helped our moderators get us up and running so quickly...(well and their hard work.)

Welcome, Tiffany!!!"
Cool, 100 and counting :).

Thanks for the shout-out, Elizabeth (Alaska)! ... Really great to see you here. This was one of the best groups (if not the absolute best group) on Shelfari.

And that is a perfect description of Goodreads!

Hi Paula, Welcome back and I hope you become very "vocal." I'll look forward to your posts.

Welcome back :). I have had some trouble, too, but since I didn't join Shelfari primarily to shelve my books, it doesn't bother me a great deal.

Absolutely. If you have a big shelf (I have over 2,000) some don't transfer (even if they are on Amazon and readily available) some of those already read say "to read" and others that were on your TBR now say "read". Some of the reviews don't come over and only a few tags become shelves. I'm trying to fix it but it will take awhile. Others are just starting fresh and passing on the fix. Oh!, and welcome back! We'll make it work!

I would recommend contacting GR customer service for anyone having trouble. This is one area in which their customer service is top-notch!

Did you call them or use the contact link? It took me a bit to find the link but, once I did, I got an email response. I attached my file but haven't heard further yet. I have my fingers crossed.

I'm sure you will hear. However, everyone should know GR is notorious for little to no customer service on the weekend. And it is 5:30 pm GR time on Friday as I write.
For anyone else, you can use the Contact Us link on the left panel on the Help page - found under the arrow to the right of your profile pic upper right every page. You can also send an email to support at goodreads dot com

Good advice.

Good to know. I'll give them some time but, as Kim also suggests, I'll be sure to follow up.

Please do. I think a week is very long for them not to have resolved your problem.

That is because Amazon's best point is its customer service, which is usually high in the top `10 customer services reviews in the States. When they are interested in keeping something profitable going, they work on that.
Customer service and the fact that some small, independent companies (my favourite organic flour mill, for eg) only sell through Amazon are major reasons why I haven't dropped Amazon. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE great customer service.

We are a group consisting primarily of ex-Shelfarians, but we are all excited to meet Goodreads members and welcome you to our group.
For the month of February, our group is still private, so if you've found your way here or have been invited to participate, fantastic!
In March, we'll be going public.
In either event, we want to welcome you, so please introduce yourself here as a reply to this message. And don't hesitate to ask questions if you need assistance!
