How do you provide a link to an external web site, article etc? For example, and thanks for always bailing me out Pip.
When I began the Poetry section I mentioned our first poem would be "Ulysses." Magically, a copy of the poem appeared in the poetry thread. How do you do that Pip? Should I use an iPad or a Microsoft system?
Thanks.

I'm glad we've started with a question I know the answer to...!
It doesn't matter what Operating System you're using, the basic principle is the same. All you need to do is copy the website address that you want to insert and it will automatically become a link.
It often easiest to do this by having the two pages ("tabs") open at the same time.
For example, if I want to put a link here to the BBC News website, I'd open a new tab, find the website I want, highlight and copy the address and paste it here. Thus: http://www.bbc.com/news
Actually, this works for most online text these days, even a Word document for example. If you type or paste in an address beginning http or www computers automatically create a live (ie: clickable) link. Does that make sense?

Each moderator tends to handle it differently, as do members who lead discussions. It certainly is doable. I tend not to put the dates, but I do put chapter info in the heading

I have 1 book on my shelf gabrielle-dubois and 3 books on my shelf 16th-and-less. But it's said that there are no books: (0)
Could someone please tell me what to do?
Thank you.

This folder is for members to answer technical questions relating to GoodReads in general. The answers to most queries that people have about GR are "out there somewhere", but can often be difficult to find so we thought we'd try and make life easier for you.
While we are not technical experts, we are able to help with the most common questions that come up related to GoodReads functions and/or to help you get the most out of the site. And if we can't, there may be more able techies here in the group who can step in and answer!
We will also try to keep our members reasonably up-to-date with any new features that GoodReads introduces.
Please feel free to ask about anything that has been puzzling you. No question is too "stupid": we were all beginners here once :-)
To start a new topic, click "Discussions" on the group home page, and click "New topic" at the top of the Discussions page.
Give your query a subject (title) and choose "How To....." From the drop-down folder lost. Type your question and post!
