M.J. Kobernus Hi folks.

Are there are writers in the group?

I ask, because I am a writer. I focus on Urban Fantasy with a metaphysical twist.

Let's hear from others who write too....

Hi MJ

Welcome to the group. I am an author too. I have a sci-fi/fantasy psychological thriller I'm working on. Thanks for your post. We're looking forward to discussing books with you.

Hi M.J.

I am another writer. I write paranormal, military science fiction.

I have two books out their:
Price of Vengeance (A Dreamscape Warriors Novel) by Kurt D. Springs and Promise of Mercy by Kurt D. Springs .

I am currently working on a third book in the series. The title has been eluding me. I look forward to discussing books with you.

M.J. Kobernus Hello all...

So, kurt, tell us about your WIP. Maybe we can brainstorm your title?

I have one novel out, currently, with another two soon on the way.

If anyone is interested, I will provide a link to an Advanced Reader Copy, so you can get it for free:

http://www.nordlandpublishing.com/arc...

It is Urban Fantasy/Metaphysical

I have the sequel ready to go, and a sci-fi novel (a bit tongue in cheek) that I want to get out next.

Off to the office now, but I will check back with you later.

//Mike

Bekka | 2 comments Hello fellow fantasy writers. I'm involved in a push for more fantasy to be written within a North American setting. If you'd like information on this, here's the website: https://northamericanmythologicalfant...
Thanks!

A brief description is as follows:

Alfred Eyrie | 18 comments Hello, readers. I am a Goodreads author who has published several books under my real name, but have had to use a pen name to write and promote a personal memoir based on the true stories of my childhood spent in a haunted house. The end result is Memoirs of a Haunted House. To protect the privacy of those involved, I had to change the names and a few details of the story, so the story is not exactly true and not exactly fiction. My hope is to reach other children and adults who lived through similar experiences and were told, as I was, that they were imagining things or were crazy for talking about it.

I'm actually going to be working on my second series, Kingdom Come. It's a supernatural thriller series. The books are going to be pretty short, between sixty and one hundred pages. I'll let everyone know when it's out.

Casey Hays | 1 comments Hi! I just found your group today. I write YA and NA Dystopian and Paranormal Romance. The first book in my new YA paranormal romance, Firebloods, released on May 27. I'm very excited about this series based on the legend of the Phoenix. It has been so fun working with these characters! They're a blast!

Welcome to the group Casey.

A.R. Davis (drardavis) | 10 comments Hi! I am an indie author of two series of metaphysical sci-fi. I have been in a local writers workshop for some time, but nobody really gets my stuff. For them, there are no alternate realities. So ... I'm looking for intelligent life out there. This group looks very promising.

Happy to talk to anyone about writing, and will go to the other threads to see what people are reading.

Al

Hi Al and Casey. Welcome to the group. Looking forward to many fun discussions. Right now, we're reading the best of the best in terms of sci-fi, having people vote on a selection of award-winning books from 2017 and back. I was thinking of doing the same for fantasy. I know there are a few awards for this genre. We will also try and offer readings for genres and subgenres of sci-fi, paranormal, and fantasy. It's going to be a fun summer! Keep us updated on your works, and if it fits within the genres of this group, please let us know, and we will read your work and discuss it.

A.R. Davis (drardavis) | 10 comments Kurt posted a message in the "What I've Read" thread about a new book on alternate universes. It sounds great to me, especially since it seems to have a lot in common with something I wrote. However, how do I comment outside the writer's corner? Many groups get angry if you even admit that you write outside of the designated areas.

GGGGGGRRRRRRR! Totally kidding. I don't think a single one of us has ever gotten mad at anything Everything Other World related. Ever. At all.

Um, Goodreads is not user friendly, and Kurt and I swear that we learn something new all the time. I have been on here for a couple of years, and I still am trying to figure out things all of the time.

If you go to discussions, you can see the folder we have. There are places you can post, such as books that are part of the group's monthly reading, books we simply want to share and recommend to other members of the group, and discussions. Then there is this folder, where authors can share their book and a link to it so we can read it and such.

Does that help? If not, you might have to try and click on things and see where they lead you. I do that half of the time, seriously.

:)

Hi Stjepan,

I can relate to your post, because this month, I have been dealing with a whole pile of the human condition :), which is why I am a month behind.

I also understand what you're saying. My parents completely discouraged me from writing, even telling me I would fail, so I learned to deny myself constantly, until I couldn't anymore. I realized that I had to write because it was part of me. It's not a choice. It's a need that I have to satisfy every day.

You are among friends here who understand. Keep writing and keep us posted when you put anything out.
