This is a special celebratory, genre specific group. In joining this group you have agreed TO REVIEW ANY ALLOCATED BOOK within the set 12 week limit.
Genre: Thriller
Thrillers are characterized and defined by the moods they elicit, giving viewers heightened feelings of suspense, excitement, surprise, anticipation and anxiety. Thrillers generally keep the audience on the "edge of their seats" as the plot builds towards a climax. The cover-up of important information from the viewer is a common element. Literary devices such as red herrings, plot twists, and cliffhangers are used extensively. A thriller is usually a villain-driven plot, whereby he or she presents obstacles that the protagonist must overcome.

Allocation is entirely random and there will NOT be any rearranging of the listing to accommodate preferences. The ONLY circumstance in which you may duck out of giving a review is if YOU provide a stand-in reviewer.

Let’s be honest here – even within the same genre, we don’t all like the same things but we all want reviews. The only way this group can function is if we trust each other to behave honourably. And it IS perfectly possible to give a fair-minded review of a text that does not coincide with our normal choice of reading matter. If you need a few hints/tips, please see this thread:

Make sure you have an author profile set up before you join and that your book is available for sale on amazon (not pre-0rder).

Please let me know as you sign up if you have been reviewed by, or have reviewed another author in the group. It is permissible to review an author more than once if a different book is available, but reciprocal reviews within the group are strictly prohibited.

Once the order is set up, authors have 12 weeks to complete their reviews, one every three weeks. If you cannot agree to these rules (as stated in the sign up message) please withdraw.
Authors usually exchange files, it is not expected that reviewers will pay for the books they are to review. Authors must be able to provide and accept at least pdf files, although many people also have mobi and epub available.

To be completely upfront here, I am submitting with my first book, which is on Amazon now, but hope my later reviewers will be willing to accept and review book #2, which comes out on April 6 (much like the option Emma described above to Laurel).

Hi Johannes, when we have our ten members, I'll sort out who is reviewing who, and I'll post the list to this thread. Then you have 12 weeks to review your 4 allocated books.

I get VERY cranky if I spend time sorting out a non-reciprocal review order only for someone to remember a clash afterwards.

Emma, I see that Bruce Perrin has submitted Half A Mind to this group. FYI, I reviewed that book in another review group.

Also, you mentioned that reviewers weren't expected to buy the books they're to review, but if the book is in Unlimited and the reviewer is a subscriber, it's okay to get it that way, isn't it?

Could I sign up for this group, please. My book is more of a psychological drama, but this is probably the best category for it.

Please remember the commitment you are making to your fellow group members. If you pull out after the start date for any reason it is the other members who will be faced with the problem of finding a replacement, or missing out on reviews, through no fault of their own. Please don’t ask the moderators to chase after replacements as we just don’t have the time.

Postings to any other sites are by agreement by both author and reviewer.

If I’ve missed something that results in you being asked to review someone who has already reviewed you, please let me know asap.
