Martijn Heemskerk (zampano77) | 80 comments This book is a selection of (six) stories from the short story collection, The Elephant Vanishes (yes, translated from English). In 2012 the other stories were translated in De Kangoeroecorrespondentie. Last year the publisher brought the stories back together in a collection with the same name: De olifant verdwijnt. What is the policy? Keep both the translations with the same title together or separate the selection from the entire translation? If the first option is chosen, the 2012-edition should be combined with this one too.

lethe | 16359 comments If the new edition contains all stories from The Elephant Vanishes, it should be combined with that.

The other two books with selections should stay separate. Librarian notes can be added to clarify they are selections only and should not be combined with The Elephant Vanishes or with each other.

Then I've got my work cut out for me. The book mentioned above (190 pp) is combined with the complete collection, it's not separate yet. Several German translations (ca. 190 pp) are too. However, the table of contents on amazon.de mentions 8 stories, that's two more than the Dutch 2005-edition.
