It's pretty good! Especially if you like horses. There's a circus involved and Lipizzan Stallions. I'm on page 115. She's very descriptive. I like her writing.

I'm enjoying the budding relationship between Vaness and Timothy, & am interested to see which way that develops. Given that the book was written in 1965, I doubt Vanessa will turn out to be Mrs. Robinson!
I'm having a harder time reading this than I thought I would, but I think it's mostly because my book was published in 1966. and the pages are age-tanned and the print is small. Hopefully the plot will thicken soon & overcome those difficulties!
I'm on 164. The tension ramps up a little when the husband shows up! Its slow but like you I enjoy the relationship between Vanessa and Tim. The circus is interesting and the horse old piebald. Now there in a lovely old castle type estate and gothic part is picking up. I sense danger around the corner!
Finished this morning! For starting a little slow it sure picked up pace and had a great breathtaking ending! I sort of hated for it to end, the three main characters kinda get under your skin. I could definitely see a series with these characters.

I'm lagging behind! The husband has showed up, & Vanessa & Tim are back with the circus. Hasn't really ramped up yet, but I can see it coming! Hope to get more time to read tonight, but I'm up to my elbows in a project that HAS to get done today! I can definitely see a late night reading frenzy coming on!

Don't you just hate it when life gets in the way of reading

YES! There's nothing worse -- I imagine that's what Purgatory must be like!
Finished the book -- wow! Here's my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
And I just realized this counts as a Scotland read. Well I know, we are both in that group, but somehow I missed the implication.
