Well her book The Host was not bad...so I hope she continues work on that series.
I didn't read The Host, but heard that the movie bombed. Oh yeah, and I did read some crap she said about Twilight being the reason critics didn't like The Host movie. Is that true?
If so, what a dumb bitch

Her style of writing is different, I would like to see her write more, but only if she stays away from vampires. Being a writer myself, and loving what I do, I would hate to bring so much hate upon myself for my work that I would lose the will to write. Still, hopefully she will never use the word vampire again.
I actually do hate her writing, that's why I was like "I can't take this anymore!" after finishing the first book. I just couldn't read anymore of them. She's one those writers like Dan Brown, where it's popular but at the same time there are many people who are like, "why the hell is this crap popular?" (LOL...I don't know if I should be saying that or not, cause I actually liked The Da Vinci Code). But, I think you put it best, E.B., when you said "she destroyed vampires by making them mainstream in the wrong ways". And that is my major problem, is what she did to vampires, took the most badassed monsters and turned them into watered down, sissified versions of what came before.
And it's true, that she wrote a vampire book without reading another vampire book or even researching them at all. Even after she wrote Twilight she wouldn't read anyone else's vampire stuff. She said she tried to read The Historian, but couldn't do it because "they were to far away from her vampires". Talk about narrow minded. And movies! Her husband tried to get her to watch The Lost Boys, but she wouldn't do that either.
I like what you said, E.B., about her making them mainstream in the wrong way. If you don't mind, E.B, I'd like to quote that in my letter to her. I won't use your name, I'll just say something like, "a good writer friend of mine said....etc.". If it's okay with you that is.
If you haven't done so already, you guys should check out E.B.'s Melabeth the vampire series, it's a pretty good read.

Hell, I'm doing it! I'm currently taking my time thinking it out and carefully writing the letter. I'm not going into a rage about it or using foul language. If any of you guys want to do this too, I suggest you stay away from curse words as well, but communicate in whatever means you think is affective. Here is the address...
