Daniel Clark This is a book about transformation. Can a tiger change its stripes? How did the experiment turn out?

Daniel Clark I had no idea that Pygmalion is (correct me if I'm wrong) THE original piece where we transform the nerd into the popular girl, or the dweeb into Don Juan, and behind the scenes, the puppet masters are just playing a game. How many movies (mostly based in high school for some reason) have this plot scheme?

I also didn't know that the play/musical My Fair Lady is based on Pygmalion. I'm gonna try to watch it now that I've finished this play by Shaw.

And what about the name. Pygmalion (in Greek mythology) was a sculptor who fell in love with a female figure he carved, named Galactea. Then the statue was brought to life. The figure of Higgins in the play is Pygmalion, and Eliza is his Galactea. Is she really his creation, his pet, his plaything? The person Eliza chooses to marry in the play may reflect a different kind of happy ending.
