This series has like 30 books so maybe Ill add the rest later I got tired.

I think this author contacted me ages ago and I was really busy and didn't get a chance to respond to her email but I thought I'd check the series out any who.

Anyone read any of these books?

Holy crap! I had no idea it had gotten so long. I own the first book for sure. I keep putting off reading it though. Now that I know how long the series is I think I'll keep putting it off.

Lol right. It seemed to be a bit similar to Isle of Night so I thought i'd give it a chance and according to the audio its only 3 hours long at regular speed so the actual book is prob 200 pages or less.

just took a look the first book is 154 pages.

Ah. Small books. It will still probably be a while before I try the first one.

I started the sample and honestly ... the main character .

it picks up quickly and although there are laugh out loud corny vampire trope moments its an easy quick read. im about 35 precent of the way through.

Finished the first book rated 3.5 stars.

I like corny! I own some super corny vamp books.

I'm not sure if she meant for the corny to actually be corny but I think the most inventive thing she was able to do with the vamps is have them live in trees. Everything else seemed like a mish mash of other vampire stories however it read quickly the main character isn't a horrible person though at the beginning I was like " oh god not another boy obsessed for no reason teenager." .

There was one part that didn't add up to me so if you get around to reading it I'd like to know if you had the same problem.

I think I really appreciated the fact that it wasn't insta love.

I think after book 7 the main characters switch or at least this how I understand it and then they switched to another main character after a few more books.

I like the tree concept!

Yeah, I'll keep that in mind when I try it out.

That sounds fun switching up POV for the books.

so I just started listening to book two : A Shade of Blood I find it strange that some people commented that they thought a female character had been raped and glossed over and didn't want to continue the series but when someone said no that person hadn't been raped they were like oh okay. However, in the second book, we find out that a male main character was ACTUALLY raped by a female character. I haven't heard of any complaints about that except for some people saying that they hate the male character because he is in the way of the two love interests. It's funny how some readers pick and choose based off of the sex of the characters.

What I like though is that Bella doesn't gloss over it or dismiss it as not important.

the character everyone seems to hate is actually us. he says everything we always say about insta love or female chracters who love horrible male leads. I don't understand why everyone hates him.

Now I'm curious about it. I own up to book 5 I think.

Yes, I find it super annoying. For instance I read last month. All the tropes that normally happen, happened. The only different is that it is a male lead. Yet many of my GR friends who I thought would notice loved it.

Apparently the tropes were okay because it was a male lead.

I've been looking for a similar review to how i feel about the book.... oh god im listening to the audio as I write this and oh my goodness I have 3 more hours how will I make it. i dont like the way this is going and the lead female and male ugh. I feel like Bella knows they are heavily annoying and flawed though. time for double time gotta finish this audio.

I'm not sure. She seems to release like 2 to 3 books per month and I'm curious how so it's prob the main reason I even started the series. However, this...this is not good. And I'm confused because I want to believe that she knows its not good and it going to shock us in the end but I don't want to get my hopes up lol.

Ha-ha. I"ve had that happen when I've stated in reviews it was bad or the writing quality was horrible. The authors like "I know but . . . insert excuse." It's kind of funny, but sometimes it doesn't matter to other readers.

There is just some stuff in here that I can't believe people aren't talking more about. even if the author is building the main characters as the worst versions of themselves in order to take them on a journey that will make them their best selves things that they do in these books can never be forgiven. There is a part in which the main female character witnesses the male lead/love interest abusing a female friend of hers not even two seconds later everything is fine since he didn't kill her after all and there making out and declaring their love to each other like everything is peachy keen. It makes me feel very disgusted in the two of them. How can I root for either of them in the future when they are such despicable human beings? I don't want them to win at shit. lol.

Yea... I think I understand why her series sells so well it didn't really have an ending ending more like a beginning to the next book shocker and weird random altercation with a new character ending. That on top of the other issues with the characters personalities/ the way their romance works and the extra guy in their triangle being treated like dooty on the bottom of the main females shoes for no reason other than the author wanting to make it clear that she doesn't have the same " chemistry" with him as with the lead ass is making me really iffy. I wonder if someone can spoil me and tell me when the next characters come in and who.

I bet you can find someone. I wish I could remember which of my GR loved them and kept up on them.

The new couple's story starts on book 8. I may skip to 8 to see if it's the characters or the author. She also has a new series it seems to be post-apocalyptic.

Edit: I just looked at the chapters and the old characters still have povs in the new characters arcs. -_-
