Blue (BluePhoenixHD) Looking for some books to read, I've read a bunch, haven't got around to reviewing them yet, just looking for Fantasy/Sword/Magic/Science Fiction, etc. genres. Ones with not too many points of view. Also, I'm a guy if that's needed. XD

Here are some of the books I've read or I've tried to read, some of them anyway. Heads up, big wall of text incoming:

Greatcoats Series by Sebastien De Castell
The Faithful and the Fallen Series by John Gwynne
Pax Arcana Series by Elliott James
Alex Versus Series by Benedict Jacka
Warden/Kid Sensation/Fringe Series by Kevin Hardman
Tales of the New Earth Series by J.J. Thompson
Maestro Series by John A. Buttrick
Lost Fleet Series by Jack Campbell
Cloud Warrior Saga Series by D.K. Holmberg
Legends of Windermere Series by Charles E Yallowitz
Trysmoon Saga by Brian Fuller
Inner Seas and The Ingenairii Series by Jeffrey Quyle
Epic Series by Lee Stephen
The Dresden Files and Codex Alexa Series by Jim Butcher
Mercy Thomspon Series by Patrcia Briggs
The Staff and the Sword Series by Patrick W. Carr
The Spare Heir Series by Michael G. Southwick
The Wielder Trilogy by T.B. Christensen
Blood of the Kings by Jill Williamson
Iron Druid by Kevin Hearne
Jane Yellowrock Series by Faith Hunter
Kate Daniels and Novel of the Edge Series by Ilona Andrews
Young Samurai Series by Chris Bradford

This will be the first time I'll recommend this series The Gandalara Cycle I, The Gandalara Cycle II The River Wall, byRandall Garrett.
They are usually spoken of as science fiction, but I think they are more oriented towards a fantasy reader.

It's an older series and may be hard to find, and you may only be able to get them used. The books can also be ordered individually, again used.

And as always I recommend, The Great Book of Amber by Roger Zelazny. My all time favorite set of books.
:D

Blue (BluePhoenixHD) Thank you Brenda, I very much appreciate it. Will check the books out. =D

Scott Hitchcock (lostinthewarrenofchaos) | 443 comments I like series and here are the first books to some great ones. Mary's suggestion of The Aeronaut's Windlass I'll second especially since you have Butcher on your read list twice.

The Way of Kings

The Eye of the World

The Lies of Locke Lamora

A Game of Thrones

Cee | 37 comments I see you've read quite some urban fantasy - maybe Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison or Bitten by Kelley Armstrong would be interesting for you? Both are really good :)

Blue (BluePhoenixHD) Thanks everyone, I appreciate it. I updated a good amount of my read list. Thanks again, Scott, Celine, Brenda and Mary.

Tad (tottman) | 68 comments I'd try the Confederation novels by Tanya Huff starting with Valor's Choice.

The Powder Mage Trilogy by Brian McClellan is great. That starts with Promise of Blood.

I'd take a look at the Bobby Dollar series by Tad Williams starting with The Dirty Streets of Heaven.

Oh I also loved the Powder Mage Trilogy - definitely put this one on your list :)

stormhawk I have heard of exactly one of your books/series, So I don't have a good feel for your tastes. I am, as I frequently point out, old and unhip. And so, I shall suggest what I have liked with little regard for your desires. This might work out well. The Chronicles of Amber by Roger ZelaNy are a favorite. Please read them in order. It matters.

Piers Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality are a delight.

Those are two quite long series, and should keep you occupied for a bit.
