Life after ACOMAF - What to read next

You can try some of these. I loved them.
Tiger's Curse
Talon
Everneath
Angelfall

I'm currently reading the Falling Kingdoms trilogy. Not epic, but decent. (I second Angelfall up there. Really good book.)

red queen (EPIC! only 2 books are out though :(
throne of glass series (still waiting on the final book but there's a good 3 or 4 already out)

Red queen
Throne of glass(if you haven't already)
Twilight?(it's good but this competely put it in the corner of shame(well maybe not, it was a pretty amazing book, nevertheless the ACOTAR is that much better))
Selections (a whole different kind of series)
Every other day
Tigers curse
Sweet venom

The Final Empire
The Crown's Game
The Knife of Never Letting Go (Science fiction but still amazing)
The Diviners
Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Slow, but really interesting)
Three Dark Crowns
All of these, unless stated, are fantasy books which really helped me get over slumps and engrossed me in their worlds.

1. Illuminae - such a different style from Maas but you will fall in love.
2. The Raven Boys series- can't put enough praise on the originality and quirkiness and magic of this series. highly recommend.
3. Heartless- all in all an eh read but you won't believe how easy it is to fall for the court jester. Just trust me, there are other men besides Rhys.
4. Honestly just re-read ACOMF until ur more of an emotional mess than you were the first time...
Hope I helped and good luck to anyone in a similar position!! <3

But some do come really close:
1. Heartless by Marissa Meyer and while you're at it read the Lunar Chronicles too - just wooooow *---*
2. The Young Elites Series - The story and the protagonist Adelina are so beautifully written and I like her character development so freaking much :o
3. Cruel Beauty, Crimson Bound and Gilded Ashes are quick and amazing reads too <3
4. Red Queen? Shatter me? The Mortal Instruments/ The Infernal Devices? Mara Dyer? (I've already read them way before ACOMAF but in case some of you haven't yet, please do read them I think they're essential :D )

In addition, I have spent a lot of time reading ACOMAF fanfics - there's quite a few great ones out there! (For example: http://sarahviehmann.tumblr.com/tagge...)

Codex Alera series by Jim Butcher is another to read. Nobody reads it but its soooo amazing and really similar in set up to Throne of Glass, and the writing and story is so amazing. I swear i am the only person to have ever read theses books but more people need to read it especially if you are a Sarah J Mass fan, the intricacy of the plot that Jim Butcher writes reminded me so much of Sarah.
I also just finished a Rebel in the Sands which was absolutely fantastic.
Other top books i would recommend:
-Six of Crows (really fun and sarcastic characters, who doesn't love that).
-Shatter me series (I was really on the fence about reading it but fell in love with it immediately, I also felt the character development was done so well).
-The Kiss of deception (had the biggest plot twist i have ever read but not one that will rip your heart apart just a real mind fuck).
- Passenger by Alex Bracken (usually not a time travel person but this book made me in love with it).
-Prince of Wolves is a good book (and i think its a free ebook off amazon) but after like the third book it starts going down hill so its more of a just for fun quick read.
-An Ember in the Ashes is also fabulous I always wait for a weekend to read the books when they come out because i just cant ever seem to put the book down.
-Fangirl. I tend to love my sword fighting, good guys winning books so i was nervous to read something so different from what i usually read but i am so glad i did. This book was so cute, and i saw myself in nerdy antisocial Cath to at times.
if your want more info on any book or want other recommendation i will be happy to supply you with it. And if based on my list you have any recommendations i would LOVE to hear them!

I am completed in this same position! I still find some time for some rereads. I just cannot move past Rhys. I tried to read Throne of Glass and I got super bored in the 4th book and haven't been able to finish it. I am going to try to finish it down the road, maybe after the last book comes out.
I absolutely loved the Grisha series but didn't have any issues moving past it at all. Not like this.
I am going to give Heartless by Marissa Meyer a try. I like that it is only one book so I will finish it! And let's be honest, I just need to find a way to move past Rhys, so I like that this has a great male romance character as well.
Hopefully this will get me out of my funk!

The Grave Mercy series is really quite good though. I'd also highly recommend it but it's not going to take the place of this one. 😶
I enjoyed Raven Boys series until the last two books, then it just disintegrated for me.
Good luck! (I just finished ACOMAF so I'm totally comprehending your frustrations!)

The..."I really didnt think someone would reply! Your awesome thank you! Ive spent a couple days searching for anything to get me out of this funk. I just looked up the fever series idk how i didnt come across that im going to give it a try! What is the spinoff series i hope i got the correct first book. If you have any other suggestions let me know im open to anything that will steal my heart like ACOTAR series did i mean it had everything. Romance, action, sex, i seriously felt like i could have passed out a few times during acomaf 🙈 So heart broken its over

An Enchantment of Ravens
The Cruel Prince"
I would avoid the Cruel Prince. Just like with an actual hangover, getting hooked on another book that will crush your heart in to little-bitty pieces is NOT THE ANSWER.

Thankfully, I'm reading ACOMAF right now and am able to read ACOWAR right after, as I bought the trilogy all at once. (Regretting that I didn't buy ACOFAS at the same time...I didn't want to make the same mistake I did with Throne of Glass and buy all the books at once, only to discover that I HATED that series. Not because of SJM's writing itself, obviously, but because I couldn't stomach 98% of the characters and by book 4, I was ready to kill everyone myself)
I will always, ALWAYS recommend A Song of Ice and Fire series (Game of Thrones) because it is one of the most epic stories I've read, but you definitely have to have a lot of patience as well as a really good memory for hundreds of characters, houses, locations and back story as well. If you can't keep up with everything, it's kind of pointless because you lose the importance of a detail here or a moment there.
I think in terms of epic-ness, I'd also recommend The Dark Artifices (The latest Shadowhunters series) because that one has that similar feel of romance and darkness. (Sorry, Clace, but you bore me and you are definitely not as good as the ships that sailed after you. ;-))

The Girl of Fire and Thorns trilogy (plus one novella) by Rae Carson is a great read. The main character really grows into herself and gains confidence throughout the series in such a realistic and beautiful way. It's not epic in the normal sense, as she's not a fighter, but she's intelligent and her strength lies in that. (There are still plenty of action sequences and romance though, don't let that put you off and I found it to be an epic read.)
The Steampunk Chronicles by Kady Cross is also a different style and a great read. Especially if you're into Victorian Era steampunk, with elements from classic stories mixed in. (Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, as one example.)

is the shatter me series as explicit as acomaf?? beacause it looks pretty PG

That was literally me, I would say read the other series from Sarah J. Maas but I'm guessing you have already read that (if not FOR SURE READ IT).
Other books suggestions are:
The selection series by Kieraa Cass
Fall away series by Penolepe Douglas
Birthday GIrl by ^
Breathless series by Maya Banks
Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell

YOU SHOULD READ A CURSE SO DARK AND LONELY!!!
There is a Character Named Grey Who is Like a Gentleman. He Has MORE Chemistry with The Heroine
There is Also a Character Named Rhen Who is Behaving Like Tamlin in ACOTAR. He is The Beast in This Story
There is a Character Named Grey Who is Like a Gentleman. He Has MORE Chemistry with The Heroine

i know exactly what you mean, I've been on the hunt for something similar to acotar but all the suggestions never end up being steamy enough but i found a new release book that is exactly what we've been looking for! kingdom of exiles by maxym martineau is a steamy (!!) fantasy series with a love interest who is very similar to rhysand, also the writing is excellent - especially since the romance genre has some average writing sometimes.

Please, I need recommendations of fantasy books with 19/20 year olds as the main characters. I'm sick of reading about teenagers!!

- Kingdom of Exiles by Maxim M. Martineau
- Rhapsodic by Laura Thalassa
- A Promise of Fire by Amanda Bouchet
- Nightchaser by Amanda Bouchet (this one is space/sci-fi)

i know exactly what you mean! the reason i loved acomaf was for the more explicit content, so these books are exactly what you're looking for i think!! They all contain explicit content in their romances but still have that fantasy element:
- Rhapsodic (The Bargainer Series) by Laura Thalassa - this is the closest to acomaf i've ever found, in fact i think it is heavily inspired by acomaf! the writing skill is not as good as SJM but it fills the void!
- Kingdom of Exiles by Maxim M. Martineau
- Pestilence by Laura Thalassa
- A Promise of Fire by Amanda Bouchet
- Nightchaser by Amanda Bouchet
- Lullaby by L.R.W Lee
