My name is Marissa. I am an aspiring author, and for my new book, I'm looking for some feedback. I have a few questions in this post that I would love your help to answer, to help me write my book in a way that people will be more likely to want to read it.
The topic of my book is Sexual Assault Prevention. I know that this topic is hard to swallow, and very uncomfortable to talk about, but that is exactly why I want to write it! This topic needs to be talked about in order to make a change.
Any help would be much appreciated!
My book will be a compilation of survivor stories for people who have experienced sexual assault. It will be a series of short stories about peoples journeys after the incident, and where they are now. How they overcame the trauma.
Would you be more interested to read this book if the stories are 1st person narratives (from the voice of the survivor), or if they are in 3rd person stories?
What would the ideal length for a compilation of short stories be? How many stories should be included?
This topic is heavy, but it effects everyone. 1 in 4 women, and 1 in 7 men will be sexually assaulted in their lifetime. Is this book something you would be interested in reading?
Are there any general Sexual Assault topics you would like to see addressed? Military? Marital Rape? Intimate Partner Violence? College Campuses? Children? etc.
You can either comment or reply here, or email me directly! MFCohen12@gmail.com.
Hey Marisa, the book sounds great and totally worth reading. I think that 1st person narratives helps with connecting to characters and I think that at least 6 story's are good also I think that military and children are good topics if you won't people to be shocked
