We have our second Eclectic Readathon coming up! According to the votes, our Readathon will take place from the evening (approximately 8 pm EST) Friday, June 24th to the evening of Saturday, June 25th.

Here is a thread for you to share your ideas for reading challenges and check-in challenges. We'll take them, maybe mix in some of our previous challenges and produce a brand-spankin-new list on the evening of the Readathon! So let's hear your brilliant ideas!

I like starting with "What time did you start reading today? How did you prepare?"

Hey guys, don't forget to post your ideas for challenges! Otherwise, you might be left at my mercy. Muahahahaha.

How about, "Give your dream cast for the main characters of the book you are currently reading?" for a challenge?

A book that has become a TV series

OH, and we should also keep "How many hours/pages total did you read today? Share any great experiences you had completing these challenges."

Good ideas! I was trying to figure out a good way to word a dream cast challenge... This is why I need your genius. :-)

Are we doing points again? If so, maybe some stuff like points if you're reading a book by a woman author, or a person of color; a book that has LGBT characters, a character overcoming a hardship in their life...trying to think of things to add in some diversity. :)

Yes, we are doing points again. We did have most of those on the list last time, so we'll see which ones show up again (spoiler alert, I'm 100% sure diversity will show up on the list)! Keep the suggestions coming!

Did we give points for different formats used to read during the Readathon? (Hard copy, ebook, audio book). Or a topic could be what our favorite format is to read.

No sorries! It helps give us a clue on what should show up in this round vs. being saved for another time. :-)

I don't recall doing points for different reading formats but it had been suggested! so it may come up =D

Kim (kimguernsey) | 150 comments 1 idea I had: finishing a book you started but stopped reading, let's say 6 months ago (or whatever time frame is reasonable)

Because if a readathon isn't a good time for me to finally tackle a book sitting on my nightstand since 2014, I don't when is.

That is ridiculously true. You may have just given me a new goal for my Readathon!

Kim (kimguernsey) | 150 comments glad I could help! I will even settle for a point just to resume the dang book, not even finish. but I'd say reading at least 1 or 2 chapters so it's not like, "I read the next sentence, point!"
