Are we trying for a book each a week?

Let's just claim a square each week we want to read for?

I'm Noa's friend, hailing from Australia. Excited to do this :)

Sally906 | 611 comments A book a week sounds good to me. When do we start? June 1st.

I have a book scheduled for a buddy read starting June 1 that has a white dress on front Wedding Bell Blues by Ellie Ferguson so would be happy to read that square.

Not good with names - Bingo Bangers, on a roll, prime bingoers, band of bingo players, fearsome faction, Aussie Avengers

message 7: by ~~~N~~~ (new)

~~~N~~~ (chocolate-cannibal-bunnies) | 376 comments I have multiple books for three or more people that I was planning to read, so I can get that square.
Nice to meet you - have sent a friend request to you ;)
message 15: by Dion (new)
Dion (my_booklove) | 19 comments Hi Sally - have accepted your request!
I've sadly been to neither Darwin nor Newcastle, but I do intend to go at some point. Sydney born and raised, though :P
Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 1505 comments Can I please claim ROAD - Nolan Return to Signal Bend by Susan Fanetti .
Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 1505 comments Ladies, I've never done spreadsheets before. I managed to put my name in but how do you enter the book name with the link? Thanks.
message 20: by Karen ⊰✿, Avaricious Reader (new)
Karen ⊰✿ | 3767 comments Lisa - (Aussie Girl) wrote: "Ladies, I've never done spreadsheets before. I managed to put my name in but how do you enter the book name with the link? Thanks."
I right click on the book image in your post to "copy link address" and then in the spreadsheet on the cell go to Insert-Link (or hold down control and press k) and the link box will pop up. Paste into the "link" field and type the name of the book into the title field.
I'm sure one of us can do it for you if it is too confusing. I just added your one above :)
Karen ⊰✿ | 3767 comments Hi team!
It is a very wet, cold and grey day here. Would be perfect for reading if I didn't have two small kids. LOL
I am making my way through my week 1 book, but I'm taking it easy this week now that UNO has finished, and I also started Outlander which is a biggie and to keep pace with the BOM schedule I'm dedicating most of my reading time to that.
I only have about 3 hours left of audio for the BINGO book though, so I'll have it done by the end of our week and I'll start thinking about what I can read next.
How is everyone else's weekend looking?
message 33: by Sally906 (new)
Sally906 | 611 comments All shut up and the air conditioning is on. Winter has not arrived to the top end and is sticky, hot and muggy. Will be making chicken burgers for lunch in a minute then we'll go for a drive and come back and settle in for the rest of the day. That will be my reading time :)
Easy weekend for us :)
message 34: by ~~~N~~~ (last edited Jun 03, 2016 08:03PM) (new)
~~~N~~~ (chocolate-cannibal-bunnies) | 376 comments Semester is over for me, but I didn't go to the graduation because the place where it's usually held was blown away by a huge typhoon last year and the new venue was super far away. Supposed to be working on reports right now for a job, but I'm obviously neglecting that. One of my other part time jobs ended on Thursday (it was only for two months). Mainly I'm just hanging out at home, hiding from the hot summer sun.
I'm at 60% of my BINGO book, which is 512 pages. I'm enjoying it, and I like that the author goes into extreme detail because I write fiction similarly. I'm also doing one other challenge at the moment. It's twelve books for this month and I want to get some books done for the TBR challenge, which I've been neglecting.
Not much besides that. Things will pick up for me again in about a week or so. Very chill right now.

message 35: by Karen ⊰✿, Avaricious Reader (new)

Karen ⊰✿ | 3767 comments ick. Not my kind of weather that Sally. Hopefully you get some nice reading in :)

well that's exciting Noa, congrats for getting to the end! Sucks that you miss out on the graduation though. I need to get back to the TBR challenge too. I started well and then just kept adding to the shelf! haha

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 1505 comments Definitely an inside day in Sydney today, Karen. Our son is in respite this weekend so we had big plans to go into Vivid tonight...but sitting by the heater in front of the TV is looking good at the moment.

My bingo book is released tonight so I'll be starting tomorrow. Enjoy your weekend everyone.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 1505 comments Oh and I've read all the Outlander books. They start out as historical romance with some time travel elements but evolve in the later books (at around 800-1000 pages) to historical fiction. I'm watching the TV show but enjoyed the books a lot more.

Dion (my_booklove) | 19 comments Today's storm, ladies! Brr and no thank you to going outside! Unfortunately this afternoon is my concert so I'm wrapped up warmly in my concert blacks as I trek out to the Conservatorium to perform today! All weekend has been rehearsals, but I've made progress on my book (as well as a few others - you know how that can be!)

On STUVAC next week so study breaks = reading breaks! Woohoo! But exams still up and coming so sadly keeping those on the horizon! But tonight it's just me, my pyjamas, a cup of tea (or three) and some books!

message 39: by Sally906 (new)

Sally906 | 611 comments I haven't started my white dress book yet - but I am almost half way through a book with a pink dress - so I'll do that square instead this week (have put it on spreadsheet) and will do the White one next week. Hope this is ok with you guys.

Satin Ice (The Delaneys, #12) (The Delaneys The Untamed Years II, #2) by Iris Johansen

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 1505 comments My next book is Freefall (High Risk #1) by JoAnn Ross which behind the shirtless man there is a beach/ocean. So after a while playing around I actually managed to post it on the spreadsheet. (view spoiler)

message 41: by ~~~N~~~ (new)

~~~N~~~ (chocolate-cannibal-bunnies) | 376 comments I just read Clinical Supervision and Teacher Development, which has a desk on it. I just thought, even though I'm at 70% of my other BINGO book, might use this one for the desk square, and the other book for the three people square next week?
Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 1505 comments Is there a number of pages requirement for Bingo?
message 43: by ~~~N~~~ (last edited Jun 04, 2016 11:09PM) (new)
~~~N~~~ (chocolate-cannibal-bunnies) | 376 comments There's no rules for page requirements or for rereads.

~~~N~~~ (chocolate-cannibal-bunnies) | 376 comments I figured out spreadsheets and updated my book! (view spoiler)
message 47: by Sally906 (new)
Sally906 | 611 comments I've finished my book - Satin Ice (The Delaneys, #12) (The Delaneys The Untamed Years II, #2) by Iris Johansen Satin Ice (The Delaneys, #12) by Iris Johansen - for pink dress on cover.
When does our week actually end? We started June 1st (Wednesday) - so guessing we finish by Tuesday 7th and start our next book the 8th?
Will be ready to read my book that has a white dress on front next week - is a buddy read and my buddy wasn't ready. I've told her ready or not I am starting on the 8th - lol!
message 48: by Karen ⊰✿, Avaricious Reader (new)
Karen ⊰✿ | 3767 comments lol @ your spoilers!
Ok, I have finished Egg & Spoon by Gregory Maguire for tree on the cover.
Yeah sally I think we are going from Wed-Wed for the week, but if you read quicker than go for it I say. ;)
Next up I have What Is Left Over, After by Natasha Lester which has a bed on the cover so I'll take that one
message 49: by Dion (new)
Dion (my_booklove) | 19 comments I've finished White Cat (Curse Workers, #1) by Holly Black for white cat on the cover.
I have a few potential books that I might read...
Lucifer's Daughter (Princess of Hell, #1) by Eve Langlais - for Black dress
A Demon and His Witch (Welcome to Hell, #1) by Eve Langlais - for one person
OR
Saving Grace (Mad World, #2) by Christine Zolendz - does this count as two people? xD
Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 1505 comments I'd say pick which one you want to read the most, Dion. Hope your performance went well on the weekend.
