I'm starting to appreciate series books because on how much depth they put into their characters and world building. What are your top 5 series that you love with more than 5 books (not including novellas)?

1. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Harry Potter, #1) by J.K. Rowling
2. The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1) by Rick Riordan
3. Darkest Powers Trilogy (Darkest Powers, #1-3) by Kelley Armstrong The Gathering (Darkness Rising, #1) by Kelley Armstrong
4. The Bad Beginning (A Series of Unfortunate Events, #1) by Lemony Snicket
5. The Name of This Book Is Secret (Secret, #1) by Pseudonymous Bosch

@Bluemoon - Ooh, I like this one! And that's a great list. :) Doesn't The Monstrumologist only have 4 books, though?

@Oda - I assume it's ok to include series with just 5 books? Like maybe it's "5 or more" books? You can correct me if I'm wrong, Bluemoon. :D

Okay my list is pretty similar to Bluemoon's because I haven't read a lot of series with 5+ books, haha. (And it's hard for a series to be that good for that long!)

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Harry Potter, #1) by J.K. Rowling The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1) by Rick Riordan The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus, #1) by Rick Riordan Little House on the Prairie (Little House, #2) by Laura Ingalls Wilder The Bad Beginning (A Series of Unfortunate Events, #1) by Lemony Snicket The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock Holmes, #3) by Arthur Conan Doyle

Oh yeah, the Boxcar Children! I was obsessed with those when I was a kid. Although my favorite was always the first one, where they actually lived in the boxcar. :P
