Why We Broke Up discussion

She mentioned at the beginning how he would see the box while he was heartbroken in his room (apparently not from their breakup though) and in the last chapter she says she "was sorry to hear about Annette."

So, am I the only one who thinks that things fell apart between him and Annette after he and Min broke up, and that is why she thought he would be heartbroken and crying in his room?
