I'm hoping I like this first one more but I definitely want to keep reading the series!

Why are you re-reading it if you didn't care much for it?

because I read it a long time ago...I don't remember it much.
I still don't think I'll love it much (just like I didn't love the first in the Lux series but ended up loving the series!) but I've seen a lot of good reviews for the whole series so I think I'll like the rest of it :)

I would love to join you all. It's been so long since I've done a buddy read because I always seem to forget about them but fingers crossed I remember!

Oh, okay, that makes sense then. LOL I was just wondering but your analogy to the Lux series is a good one! LOL

finally shaking it off today and getting my books finished up

I'm 5 chapters

awwww yes(view spoiler)[ I remember....I still find it odd that Pagan, who was homecoming queen, and Miranda - who is dating a really popular sport team player at school - that they never talk with everyone and that they sit alone at lunch. it just seems like they'd be sitting at a table bustling with other people
I also don't understand why Leif would ditch his table full of friends to eat with them every day at lunch. they seem secluded (hide spoiler)]

I only kind of remember what's going on with him
but I wonder why he decided to join their high school.... (hide spoiler)]

Leif(view spoiler)[ he ended up being a pretty nice guy. although their conversations don't seem realistic at all - I'm trying to roll with it lol
I like that he told her what he was going through and she was willing to admit she had a huge unfair grudge again him and be willing to get to know him. BUT I still find it hard to believe she didn't know him or anyone else, really, since she was homecoming queen last year. Maybe she just knew the seniors who graduated? (hide spoiler)]

I just got through the 5 chapters!

So (view spoiler)[I thought that Pagon (not really liking the name choices for these characters, they're unique but I don't really like them) was gonna be with 'Dank' the soul/not soul guy from the beginning since she saw him, I wasn't expecting another relationship to start. (hide spoiler)]

Leif (view spoiler)[That was a pretty fast move for him to tell her about his backstory that fast considering he said he hasn't told any other girl that, (I believe that's what he said, I could be mistaken) but he is pretty cute. (hide spoiler)]

Dank (view spoiler)[ I stop the names by here, what kind of name is Dank? And he's a rockstar?? How did this happen? (hide spoiler)]

Pagan (view spoiler)[Isn't that great at hiding her emotions or physical reactions as I would have thought since she has been ignorning souls and acting as though they aren't there and not letting anyone see her act weird. I do like her character though. (hide spoiler)]

Dank (view spoiler)[Ugh just let yourself love her! I want some answers, as to why that blonde chick soul keeps coming back. I think that he's there because he's trying to prevent Pagon's death that she should already have had. I love Dank's character though, I just want more with him! (hide spoiler)]

Pagon (view spoiler)[I don't like that she is staying with Leif just because it feels normal for her, the boy told you he loved you! Just because you can't have something with Dank yet doesn't mean you can keep him at your side just to have a comfort pillow.

Finished, it was alright, nothing too amazing but it was pretty good where I'll read the 2nd book. Especially with that cliff hanger!

I do too. I'll have some breathing room next week and I'll get his one read. I've just been CRAZY busy! If it weren't for audio books while I'm driving I would not be getting caught up with my 200 goal at all. LOL

I read this series a few years ago and loved it... after reading some of your guys comments i'm thinking I need to read it again, I hope i'll still love it but I do agree with some comments... i'd love to reread the first book and start on the second with everyone, the series has been in my reread pile for a while now. I just have so many other books I want to get to. lol
