I really didn't understand the whole abduction angle of the story. Why didn't they just kill Dixon and Rebecca? Why the whole office building fire nonsense? Law enforcement could have tracked Lee's phone much earlier. This was just a bad plot execution.
The whole conspiracy regarding the bombing of the mall and the airport just collapsed in the end. I don't even understand what happened in the end. If the conspiracy got buried, why did Senator Foster have to resign?
And, I still don't understand why Maggie was dragged into the case.

I was offside from the first chapter when we were supposed to accept that Maggie would even be sent to such an event at all.

As for Senator Foster, when a political figure gets caught with his hands in the cookie jar, they always have to resign. Sometimes if they go quietly, nothing is said after that (like in this case).
