Always and Forever, Lara Jean discussion

Pretty much who do you like better and WHY. Personally, I like Peter K. better because he's such a sweetie pie and tries soooo hard. However, he was a bit of a dumbutt in P.S. I Still Love You and I think he needs to redeem himself in this book. The reason I prefer Oeter over John, though, for all of his flaws is because he actually has some. Whereas John is litterally perfection personified, I mean, seriously, can a guy mess up at least once. And also, he's not Peter K.

John because he was very sweet and he has something I can't describe <3<3

Pleaseeee Jenny Han, Lara Jean just perfect with Peter Kavinsky. Don't screw them but adding more thriller between them. LOL

I used to love Peter in the first book but then Jhon appeared. I just like him better. He was so sweet and everything a girl wants.

I like Peter. I agree that John is better choice on paper. Peter is an imperfect person but he I really think he is the best choice for Lara Jean.

I prefer Peter for the reasons people mentioned above. He's not a perfect person and that's precisely why I like him better. He feels more real to me than John who came across as an exaggerated version of what girls want in a boyfriend. It's not that I didn't like him, I just feel like Peter resembles the boys that I remember from high school and may have even crushed on at some point haha

I love Peter!!!!!!!!!! Him and Lara Jean are perfect for each other. They are both flawed but that is what makes them amazing together. I lile John, but not for Lara Jean. I do hope John finds a girlfriend THAT IS NOT LARA JEAN! Peter Kavinsky and Lara Jean Song Covey are mean to be together!!!!!

I love Peter! Lara Jean better not end up with John!! I like Peter also because he's a cutie pie who tries really hard and Lara Jean needs to choose him. I don't understand why John Ambrose McClaren is so popular in the fandom, he seems sweet but he's not Peter :( :(

John, no question about it. Loved Peter in the first book, then he became annoying.

Peter of course! I really enjoyed john in ps I still love you but I just couldn't imagine Lara Jean with someone other than peter. Peter has his flaws but he really does care about Lara Jean. I honestly don't think that Jenny Han is going to break them up, they're too perfect <3

John. Peter wasn't even there for Lara 90% of the second book. I'm sorry, I know it was a complex situation, but I love John irregardless. He is just so sweet and adorable, literally, I love him. They're so cute together. Peter & Lara were cute in book one, but in book two John came along. Personally, I think Lara deserves John over Peter.

John. Definitely. He's the better option. I was initially caught up with Peter and Lara but then John entered the picture and suddenly Peter wasn't the only option anymore. (Josh would never happen, 'cause girl/sister code.) John is so sweet, fun, and caring, and while Peter is also these things, Lara Jean had to put up with quite a bit of crap from him. Things were so complicated with him. Some people may prefer that, and think it's more exhilarating or passionate, but I prefer John. He's also exciting and most importantly loving without any complications or anything getting in the way. With John, it was as though Jenny Han looked into my head and wrote exactly my ideal guy. This really is all up to personal preference, but one also can't deny how good John was to Lara Jean, and how he was there for her while Peter wasn't.

When I first read the book, I was tptally team Peter all the way. Now, after just finishef rereading it, I have my doubts. I love Peter, I really do, but he really took Lara Jean for granted. He didn't wven look torn up when they broke up and the thing with the locket was really cruel. He only acted like he cared when he saw Lara Jean doing fine without him and was happy with John. Then he decides to give her back the locket. I'm confused right now. Cause I think in someway, Peter really helped Lara Jean stepped out of her comfort zone while John still like the old Lara Jean from middle school. But, their actions are completely different and actions speaks louder than words. SO I AM REALLY CONFUSED OF WHO I WANT HER TO END UP WITH. I wanna see how the last book goes I seriously hope Peter can redeem himself.

The third volume is not what Lara will stay. Past is John. Now she must decide between Peter, and live a distance.

For us. I love Peter, and for more than a few readers can't accept, Jenny Han loves Peter, and a large portion the accepted as is, it's a good heart, who's turning adult in your time. I agree with you;) Lara love him, because he's just Peter. Peter and Peter, always! KKK..

I don't really get the whole Lara Jean and John ship, because I've never really considered John suited for Lara Jean. Sure, he's sweet, but he doesn't really suit Lara Jean. Especially later on, Peter and Lara Jean just seem made for each other. Sure Peter had problems, but you have to remember that both of them are young with insecurities and doubts. Peter isn't ideal or perfect, but he really does grow on you and proves to be right for Lara Jean in so many ways. Lara Jean also has problems throughout the series, but her and Peter have a great understanding of one another and are both kinda new to relationships, so they learn together. Especially in the last book, I think there was a lot of character growth and development for everyone. I personally think the ending is great, no matter who reads it, but Peter K all the way!

Honestly, I would vote for Peter. John is slightly too polite and too perfect. Peter and Lara create more of teenage couples. John is a bit too mature for his age.

I think John is more like Lara Jean, however Peter is kind of ''opposite'' of her, the lacrosse player, popular and loved by everyone too, but in my opinion, those differences between them that are the reason they relate very well.

They add a little of their worlds and create their own.

I like Peter K for Lara and I like J.A.M for myself. LOL

Unpopular opinion here, Originally, I totally shipped Peter K. and Lara Jean. I was 100% there for that, I thought the entire romance was sweet, heartfelt, perfect. Then John entered the picture, and Peter was totally absent at the moment, so naturally I began to feel more connected to John. The majority of the book, Peter was totally ignoring LJ, and she was spending time with John instead. John is such a sweet, beautiful human being, and he was there for Lara Jean. I just don't understand how a character can be absent the ENTIRE BOOK, all while she grows closer to another character, and then come back again and expect me to be there for that ship again.

Peter because he was so sweet to Lara Jean. I think his character arc is just more relatable.

I refuse to acknowledge any other boy. PETER! PETER!

I Love them both! I know, I know, Im supposed to choose. So for the sake of argument, I choose PK for LJ of course and John should get a Spin-off because he deserves it and we ALL deserve it.... This needs to happen!

For me it's got to be Peter ! He is so sweet with Lara Jean, and although I liked John it would have looked to "perfect". With Peter there is the history and also the fact that they grew up together. AND I love how Peter is with Lara Jean's sister

Uh...obviously Peter. Especially in the last book, you can really tell he cares for Lara Jean. He goes out of his way to do things just for her. Like the cookie in New York, and the Prom birthday surprise! Who would of thought Peter was such a sweet heart! I sure did! I felt like John was just too perfect. Lara Jean and John just doesn't flow with me. If they were together I feel like Lara Jean couldn't really be herself. You get me? With Peter they have such a fun and unique love and I love it! It makes me squeal whenever they do things together!!!! I also loved how Peter had flaws to him. It made the relationship so much more interesting. Also! ok, one last thing Peter already has this amazing relationship with her family...so...that also gives him points. I don't have anything against John...ok maybe a little, but he's a good character! I just didn't think he made such a big influence on me like Peter did.

At first I was definitely Team John because he is so sweet and Peter was really confusing what with Genevieve, but about halfway through this one I was completely Team Peter!

Yeah, I couldn't agree with you more! John is really perfect and he is in MUN. It reminds of my high school experience, but years after to know that "the boy" was also in that same MUN I've attended.
However, water undered bridge and no follow-ups.

Back to John, I just really hope that Jenny could also write John's story and he definitely deserves a HEA himself!

He is really sweet and gentle, but still I couldn't help wondering what if Lara Jean 's secret love letters never been mailed by her cute little sister and none of this will happen?

Another thought came to my mind as well, since John and Peter did had a crush on Lara Jean, why they never make a move in the first place then? Shouldn't the boy take the initiative ? Regarding this, Lara Jean is really a brave girl who dares to love and dream.

Somehow, after reading the triology, Lara Jean and Peter is obviously meant to be together ! I will always have a soft spot for John.

John totally should have ended up with Lara Jean. He is so sweet and nice, if would have been perfect. But regardless, I still love the book>

I loved John and Peter both! However, I loved Peter just a bit more, sure he made stupid mistakes, but the connection he and Lara Jean (and even Kitty) was much more stronger! Also, he's such a sweetheart, I can't get enough of him.

I like John better, but then Peter goes and does something absolutely adorable, and I just don't know again...

From reading the first two books i like JOHN better, in the beginning i was definitely team peter 100% but then he kept hanging around Gen, and was lying to Lara Jean, as well as keeping stuff from her. (Not that gens issues were her business, but if my man was constanly around her and holding her i would be pissed) and then john came into the picture and he choose lara jean 100% she was his first choice, and he didnt hold on to anybody else. For that reason, (as well as john was just so amazing) i say john was the better choice but i personally wanted the author to let peter feel like shit and then make him realize his mistakes he apologizes and he stops his wrongs, and then john and lara come to a mutual ending where he isnt left heartbroken because i love him and dont wanna see him hurt.

I like John. It's simple: He's extremely perfect, handsome, intelligent, likes to read, is sooo sweet. PERFECT in all the ways!. Peter is more real and that is cute, but I prefer John.

Team Peter all the way. Also, I don't know if anyone else (as this thread is quite old) has ever commented about what I feel are some similarities between Gilbert and Roy in the Anne of Green Gables series (I'm a big fan), and Peter and John. I think John (like Roy to Anne) is the "perfect" guy, for Lara Jean. As in, he fulfills the "ideal requirements" she would have wanted in a boyfriend. But we love who we love, and in the end, I think LJ realised that what she felt for Peter was the real thing, despite all his flaws and the whole thing about Gen (okay, not that Gilbert Blythe had a crazy bitch manipulative girlfriend (though some may say that about Christine Stewart, but that's not for this post)). They gave each other the chance to grow together, and I think that beats any "ideal" person that may come along.
