What a great end. *Slow clap* One thing I still don't understand is how Aegon's claim is greater than Dany's.

Ok. Now that you are on this thread you likely have read all 5 books. Rank them from 1st to 5th as to your level of enjoyment.

Give reasons why if you wish.

1st. A Storm of Swords / This was full of excitement from cover to cover. And Joffrey's death was very satisfying.

2nd. A Game if Thrones / This was a great introduction to a GRRM book. I liked his writing style right off the hop.

3rd. A Dance with Dragons / I loved the Theon Storyline and the few parts with the dragons were so fun. I loved the Jayne Poole parts. Because it was so different from the show, it kept me on the edge of my chair.

4th. A Clash of Kings / Parts dragged but at least there were lots of Tyrion chapters.

5th A Feast For Crows / I did not care for all the people and events of Dorne. This book was a little tough to get through.

Aegon''s claim is greater because he is the son of Rhaegar. Thus goes the line's of succession in ASOIAF. Male children are first in line. If you are the lord of a castle with no children when you die, your castle and lands will pass to your next oldest sibling. But if you have a child before you die, your siblings lose claim to your castle and lands, and it passes to your child. This is why Aegon's claim is greater. He is the true Targaryen heir to the throne, whilst Dany is just Rhaegar's sister. Her claim was strongest before we knew Aegon existed.

"What have we become, when kings and high lords must dance to the twittering of sparrows?"

"Better to live shamed than die proud."

Oh snap! Varys!

Congratulations on completing them all. Now you get to wait for the next book like the rest of us.

Brianna (bebecburt) | 562 comments Thanks! I'm so pumped I finally finished! I am kind of okay with waiting for the next, but at the same time - there are certain story lines where I really want to know what happens!

Ria (ban1chka) | 440 comments Huuh?! What was with those children?!?!

My ranking would be:
5 - A Feast for Crows - by far the most boring one, it dragged way too much.
4 - A Clash of Kings - It was interesting, but I don't remember what happened there, nothing stands out.
3 - A Dance with Dragons - I would've put it in second place the first time I read it, but it took me much longer to read this time and I wasn't nearlt as impressed as I was the first time.
2 - A Storm of Swords
1 - A Game of Thrones - I love this one. It was my first meeting with the world, with the characters, with George's writing. I had such hopes and then he chopped off Ned's head and shattered all my dreams and innocence. I have stayed up until 5am to read this book and I haven't done that for any of the others.

Oh wow. And by the way Kevan was irritating me anyway. And now the waiting begins.....

RJ - Slayer of Trolls (hawk5391yahoocom) Welcome back Varys! See ya Kevan... Cersei should be happy about these developments although she is undoubtedly just Varys' unwitting pawn. And Winter is officially here!

Now we start the long wait for The Winds of Winter. I might have to read these books all over again when that one comes out. And if I do, I saw online that there is a way to combine the 4th and 5th book into one big story: http://afeastwithdragons.com/

As for my favorites:
1) Storm of Swords
2) Clash of Kings (yes it's boring in the beginning, but the last 300 pages make up for it)
3) Game of Thrones
4) Dance with Dragons
5) Feast for Crows

By the way, has it occurred to anyone else that we just read about 2000 pages in the last two books that Martin was originally going to try to cover in one brief prologue to Winds of Winter? That's why I doubt he will be able to wrap up this series in just two more books.
