'Slow Drag at the Port' is an annual hot rod event that is unlike any other. The featured race is actually a "coasting" competition because participants coast to the finish line and do not accelerate.

'Slow Drag at the Port' is an annual hot rod event that is unlike any other. The featured race is actually a "coasting" competition because participants coast to the finish line and do not accelerate.

Books must be at least 200 pages.
Re-reads are okay

To participate in this drag race, you must read 1 book from the following list. Then you will need to read any 2 books of your choice to reach the 20 foot finish line.

If you want to, you can race again by picking another book from the list and reading 2 more books to reach the finish line for the second (or even third) time.

To accelerate for 18 feet, read one of these:
read a book set north of where you live
Last Man Standing by David Baldacci (9/4/16)
read a book with an author whose name starts with a 'P'
The 5th Horseman by James Patterson (9/24/16)
read a book set in a small town
The Kalahari Typing School for Men by Alexander McCall Smith (9/7/16)
read a book where time is spent on a train
read a book with a car on the cover
read the 2nd in a series
Dirt by Stuart Woods (9/18/16)
read a book whose title is 2 words long
Zach's Lie by Roland Smith (9/25/16)
read a book published in 2011
read a book set in the USA
The Last Star by Rick Yancey (9/2/16)
read a book where time is spent on a boat
From Time to Time by Jack Finney (9/18/16) ~ Titanic
read a book where someone goes shopping
read a book told in the 1st person
read a book where the title starts with a 'W'
