If you are willing to place one of your October reading choices in the hands of another person, just leave a comment here with at least five books and no more than ten from your TBR shelf. Participants need to leave comments no later than September 25th.

Here's how it will work:
Sophia will match people up and leave a comment with a list of who will choose for whom.
When you see the person you are to pick for, then just look at their list in the above comments and leave a new comment with their name and the book you chose for them by October 1st.

You also need to watch and see what book your person chose from your list for you.
You have the rest of the month to read the book.

So if this sounds like something you would like to do, just comment below leaving your name and list of book choices for someone to pick your October book.

Don Jacobson | 30 comments I would love to be paired up to read...I am swamped with four classes all going (and a 5th begins in October). My selections tend to be acapella (as in what was published in the last 30 days).

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) Sophia, your list gave me a few chuckles—Autocorrect was working overtime! No SUCK Thing as Luck? Love & Friendship by WALT WHITMAN? How I would love to read either of those books!! :-)

As I work my way to the belated end of my August read, I’m thinking that a return to fiction is called for. So here’s my list:

1. Sherwood Smith, Rondo Allegro
2. Barbara Cornthwaite, George Knightley, Esquire: Lend Me Leave
3. S. K. Rizzolo, On a Desert Shore (period though not per se Austenesque)
4. Jack Caldwell, Mr. Darcy Came to Dinner
5. Don Jacobson, The Keeper: Mary Bennet's Extraordinary Journey

Buahaha! This was a case of typing at one in the morning. Okay, I'll be fixing that. Good thing there's an edit option here. ;)

That's fantastic, Don! Ouch, busy schedule. Be sure to drop back in with any particular new release book titles you want someone to pick from. :)

Ceri | 224 comments I am far too behind with my planned reading to join in, unfortunately, but I'll look forward to seeing what you all put on your lists :)

message 12: by Suzan (new)

Suzan Lauder (suzan_lauder) | 12 comments I'm going to throw my hat in this month! I'm way ahead on the number of books I planned to read this year--my goal of 25 was completed months ago, and I'm on the road to exceeding the revised goal of 50. Even so, my to-read list is huge, and I haven't included a ton of books that look like second stringers to me, even though they could be great. List to follow!

message 13: by Claudine (new)

Claudine DiMuzio / Just Jane 1813 | 224 comments Great news, Suzan. I can't wait to see your list!

:-( Sorry you're not participating, but can't find fault in your reasoning. Hope our lists entertain you!

Teresa | 277 comments Hi guys! I'm in. I'll post my list in a day or so. Just got back from my trip to Bath and I am TRULY exhausted. I walked the length and breathe of it for the three days. I swear I'm two inches shorter. My legs are worn away. But seriously it was AWESOME!!!! I was in Heaven. I took lots of photos and hope to transfer them to a pinterest board (if I can manage it) and I'll post the link here. My daughter had one last surprise up her sleeve. On the way back to the airport she took a detour and I found myself standing at Jane Austen's grave in Winchester Abbey. I felt really emotional. I have to say it was one of the best weekends of my life without a shadow of a doubt.

That is wonderful, Teresa. Look forward to seeing all the pictures with your Bath experience. What a wonderful daughter to do that for you. :)

Teresa | 277 comments She really is Sophia. She had everything organised to a 'T'. Tickets booked for everything so no waiting in queues to enter anywhere. Our very first evening we had a champagne tea in the Pump Rooms. And yes I did try the waters!!! I didn't mind them actually but my second daughter thought they were disgusting. The Country Ball on the Saturday evening was tremendous fun. Have lots of pics of that and everyone we met were so nice.

Will do. Been powering through Wendy Sotis. Great and intricate plot developments.

message 23: by Mary (new)

Mary | 452 comments Teresa,I'm so glad that you'd such a fantastic time!!! Winchester is such s pretty little town, isn't it? And to see Jane's final resting place was the icing on the cake for you, despite really enjoying all the delights Bath had to offer!!

message 24: by Teresa (new)

Teresa | 277 comments Oh Mary I can't even begin to describe how I felt standing at her grave and touching it. My daughter took a pic of me standing there without me knowing (I avoid photos at all costs) and sent it to me last night. I'm glad now she did. We were caught for time but I would have loved to spend the day in Winchester. Beautiful place.

message 25: by Mary (new)

Mary | 452 comments You'll always remember your visit there,no matter how short.
But having the photo will make it extra special!!

message 26: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (dmbrown) | 849 comments So pleased for you that you were able to take such a special trip with your daughter! Sounds just awe-inspiring, Teresa !

message 27: by Teresa (new)

Teresa | 277 comments Thanks Debbie. My two daughters were with me. The one who organised most of it lives in London now and the other girl is the one I've been caring for the last few years. It was her job to make sure I got on the plane as I absolutely dread flying :). It was a great girly weekend visiting places where our idol had been!!

Howdy Patricia!

I drew your name. And I picked The Phantom of Pemberley so you can have a little thrills and chills for October (plus I want to know if it's good). ;)

message 47: by Claudine (new)

Claudine DiMuzio / Just Jane 1813 | 224 comments Good evening, Erika.

For you I choose Vampire Darcy's Desire by Regina Jeffers. I loved this story, but Regina is in the process of rereleasing the ebook, so you will have to wait a week or two to purchase the ebook.

If that doesn't work for you, I select Pulse and Prejudice, by Colette Saucier, which I really enjoyed and the sequel is even better, IMO!

Happy haunted JAFF reading, Erika!
