Lisa (tenaciousreader) | 301 comments First 5 nominations to get a second nomination will make it to our poll.

Lets try to limit to one nomination/second per member so more people get an opportunity to participate in selecting what makes it to the poll. (I know it's hard, I struggle with this too)

Thanks!

message 9: by Belinda (new)

Belinda | 3 comments I would like to vote for The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert Heinlein :).

message 10: by Harry (new)

Harry | 27 comments Heroes Die Acts of Caine #1, because it topped r/fantasy's underread/ underrated list: http://www.reddit.com/r/Fantasy/comme...

We can pick more from there too!

message 11: by Dennis (new)

Dennis Koch I'm going to nominate The Whirlwind in the Thorn Tree by S.A. Hunt. I'm rerreading this book over again because I was so compelled to read it at breakneck speed I may have missed a few nuances. Super fantasy read that is part Stephen King's "Gunslinger" series and part David Eddings novel.

I'll second this. I am currently reading Promise of Blood and are enjoying it so much I already picked Crimson Campaign!

Michael (michaeljsullivan) | 140 comments I'll second American Elsewehere...I've heard good things and it's a good excuse to give it a read.

Matti (mattigummi) Can I just pick any book?

The Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson.

Sorry, but we have been trying to limit these to first in series so we don't exclude anyone who may be interested in participating. I'll try to remember to include that in the first message next time we start nominations. Great choices otherwise.

So far we have

* Shades of Milk and Honey by Mary Robinette Kowal
* Gardens of the Moon (Book one of Malazan Book of the Fallen ) by Steven Erikson
* Heroes Die Acts of Caine #1 by Matthew Woodring Stover
* American Elsewhere by Robert Jackson Bennett

Looks like Crimson Campaign got a second as well, so we might have our five.

Unfortunately, it's the second in a series and we are trying to limit to first in a series (or stand-alones) so that readers are not excluded. Like I said in my last post, I will try to make sure that is mentioned when we open nominations from now on. I really hate feeling like the bad guy shooting down nominations, especially for books I want to read.

My bad, I didn't realize it was the second of the series.

Thanks!
