Switched - the first book in the Trylle Trilogy...

When Wendy Everly was six-years-old, her mother was convinced she was a monster and tried to kill her. It isn't until eleven years later that Wendy discovers her mother might have been right.

With the help of Finn Holmes, Wendy finds herself in a world she never knew existed - a world both beautiful and frightening, and Wendy's not sure she wants to be a part of it.

Just finished the prologue and chapter 1.. I can feel that i am gonna enjoy this ride...

I got the book I am reading the first one this book series with the second of the body finder series. School has been hectic. I will catch up.

Chapter 14.. Nearly half way through and we know nothing of the troll society.. I am now getting anxious.. So the author better start giving some info in next chapters...

Chapter 20... This is getting all worked up for next book..but nothing is going to happen in this book i can feel it...

Finished book 1..I will wait for you to catch up.. Not that eager to finish off this series after book 1..hopefully book 2 will get better..

Chapter 17: (view spoiler)[ I love how she still thinks about Maggie and Matt, even after her finding out that she is not truly related to them. I hope to see more of Matt in the series. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 20: (view spoiler)[ He quit because he was falling for her? Damn!! He kissed her so passionately. I wonder what will happen to them. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 8 done.. (view spoiler)[ once again too many lose ends.. its nearly 1/3 of 2nd book and we barely know anything about the trylle expect 2 factions, they switch children, a bit abt physical nature & they have powers (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 12.(view spoiler)[ this is getting crazier.. I mean why the hell trackers even do the slave job when they can get good life in outside world.. Or they can ask for bigger pay atleast.. After all changelings bring good money (hide spoiler)] i have a feeling.. Removing slavery is all this series is gonna be about....

Chapter 16(view spoiler)[ finally the author gave a little history but still there are too many questions i have..and the author doesn't really have a good background to the story which makes the entire plot weak.. (hide spoiler)]

Torn, Chapter 6: (view spoiler)[ Whether they are her fake parents or real parents. I feel like Wendy has the worst luck. So this is the battle between Trylle and Vittra for the Princess. I wonder which side she will choose to be on. (hide spoiler)]

Torn, Chapter 7: (view spoiler)[ I really like Loki. I am deciding to be a Loki shipper as he is everything that Finn is not. I am really wondering who she will choose. That will be interesting to see. (hide spoiler)]

Torn, Chapter 11: (view spoiler)[ What is it with some female characters in YA series being obsessed with guys who do not deserve their affection? I think she needs Loki more than Finn. I love Loki. This book is great so far for me. I will see what happens near the end. I am thinking it will be around a 3-4 star rating for me. (hide spoiler)]

Torn, Chapter 19: (view spoiler)[ I really am starting to care less about Finn. I mean, how can he act like a douchebag? How can anyone find him worthy of Wendy's love? (hide spoiler)]

Torn, Chapter 26: (view spoiler)[ Wow...way to go Loki. I think Wendy and Loki make a cute couple. She seems more comfortable as a Vittra than a Trylle. However, it is all up to her for who she wants to be. I have a feeling that she will be Trylle rather than Vittra. (hide spoiler)]

Ascend, Chapter 3: (view spoiler)[ So Oren was torturing Loki to get Wendy? That's so bad. Also, I find it creepy that Loki was arranged to be betrothed to Sara aka Wendy's stepmother, who is 10 years older than him. (hide spoiler)]

Ascend, Chapter 8: (view spoiler)[ I love what Loki says as Finn came in. "What are you doing here?" Finn looked appalled and pointed at Loki. "I'm drinking a mimosa." Loki leaned back in his chair. "What are you doing here?" I found this scene hilarious as I was picturing Loki drinking a mimosa and leaning back in his chair. (hide spoiler)]

Ascend, Chapter 13: (view spoiler)[ So Loki lied to Wendy? Why did he lie? I think she was falling in love with him. I think it sucks that she did not explore her relationship with Tove. (hide spoiler)]

Ascend, Chapter 19: (view spoiler)[ They are getting an anullment. Wow...she did not even try to make her marriage work. What was the point of marrying him if you love Loki more? (hide spoiler)]

Ascend, Epilogue: (view spoiler)[ The king is dead. Loki and Wendy get their happily ever after. She and Loki are married and have a baby on the way. This was the best book out of the three. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 4 (view spoiler)[ Okay seriously though. What happened to Michael? Will he return after Wendy goes back? How would that even work everyone's memory? (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 7 (view spoiler)[ Ok but seriously what happened to the real kids that were supposed to be there in exchange for the changeling? So she just leaves just like that and never sees her family again? And that happens with changelings? How do they keep that held up in society? (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 13(view spoiler)[ Okay, finally some answers about the kids they switched with. But what happens after they leave their home though? Won't their foster parents notice they're missing? (hide spoiler)]

I mean there was only one big dramatic event that happened which was the Vittra's attack but other than that, just more of Wendy's self loathing and training. I'm curious about her powers though. Is it bad that I'm glad Finn's leaving? Honestly, I'm not a fan of the main love interest. (hide spoiler)]

Review: (view spoiler)[I had a hard time deciding on the rating of this book. I like the concept of the book. Trolls and changelings. But I didn't really like any of the characters. They were at least not really annoying but I wasn't really rooting for anyone either.

I did however feel bad for Wendy even if her attitude was annoying at times. I can't believe that a mother would ever harm her child and not feel sorry about it. It seems that the mothers in this series are lacking.

I was glad that Wendy had her brother and her aunt to help her even if she ended up in trouble so much of the time. I wonder why she seemed to be the only changeling who had difficulties in the human world? Is she actually a brat or was she influencing people with her persuasion into disliking her because she didn't like herself?

The novella at the back was really interesting. I hope I see more about the Vittra in the second and third book. :) (hide spoiler)]

I agree with everything. I think Wendy had trouble with the human world because of what happened with her mother. But that's a good theory also. Her persuasion seems a lot stronger than other people's, so she might have been doing that subconsciously. I liked the book and enjoyed it but it needs more development in everything. Well the world was quite developed already but the characters, the plot and the scenes themselves were lackluster. They only grazed the surface of what this series could be. It's a good start though I hope it gets better.

That's fine. I'm full in April anyways. I tried to find a buddy for it earlier before my BR's got filled for April but it looks like no one's reading this series right now except for us. So I'd love a buddy to read it with in May.

Hmm...could we do May 3rd? I usually skip the first few days of the month for BRs just in case I need to catch up on some of the previous month's BRs.

The third is good. :) I don't think the mods have a May thread yet so I'm going to put it in my calendar instead. :)

@Bookbuyer Same. We just need to remember to request it when the May thread comes out. I think I've done that before where I would put BRs on my calendar and I would forget to request it.
