Yayyy so excited to start book 1 ! Can't wait to hear everyone elses thoughts :)

Yes! Mara is definitely an untrustworthy narrator. Half the time I had no clue if what she was seeing was actually there, or if they were simply hallucinations.

I agree! Not sure what is going on. Hoping I can stick through it all and finish. Having a love/hate relationship so far

I'm enjoying it ! This is my second time around with the first book! So I've chosen to read with an audio book! Which I'm enjoying a lot! Honestly j feel everyone on the "wtf is going on! This time around I'm catching little details I never noticed last time which is great!

Even though this is a reread for me, I have such a terrible memory that it feels like I'm reading it for the first time lol

The voice that is actually used for Mara is good that's why I started it , but I hate when the voice actor uses a fake English accent for Noah it's annoying I cringe every time

I just finished it. Loved the first 2/3 or so and then it sort of lost me. I'm still not entirely sure that I know WTF happened. The little plot twist at the end is interesting... Picking up book 2 right now. Unreliable narrators are hard.

Same!! I've read this so many times but it's been so long that I'm realizing I don't remember like ANYTHING. Like I completely forgot about Jamie's character all together...opps

Just picked them up from the library and after reading the comments so far I'm a little nervous to start lol

Nooo :( I'd really wanted to listen to it, but if they screwed Noah's voice up then I'm not sure its worth it

What were everyone's initial thoughts on the very first page? Where it says that her lawyer told her to use a different name and everything. I'm curious to hear everyone's opinions

This is the pg that intriged me the most! sinc it says it s fake name like whatttt ! I need to know what happens!!

I'm really loving the unreliable narrator and learning about what might have happened to Mara but Noah is kind of manipulative and it's creepy me out a bit. :/

I'm around chapter 45 and this is the part where I'm like WUT is even going on

This is my first time reading "The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer". I am about 200 pages into it and it reminds me of Carrie the second one.
So far pieces are being pulled back but I still have no idea what could be going on with Mara. (view spoiler)[Noah has already been introduced and yeah. (hide spoiler)]

I thought it was weird when she later in the book directs a teacher how to pronounce "Dyer", when if it's not supposed to be her real name, I debated whether that detail was necessary.

this Jamie guy seems really sketchy to me. I'm not sure what but it seems like there something up with him. even Mara's brother said that he's unstable. anyone have a similar feeling about him??

Just finished and really enjoyed it in the end. Like everyone else I was a little confused early on on the book but it still held my interest.

Looking forward to cracking on with book 2 today.

I enjoyed the first part of the book but did any get really confused when Noah revealed that super secret of his? I thought this book was fiction not fantasy based but I'm also not sure that Mara is completely sane at this point. I don't have the next book yet but I am interested in what happens with Noah/Jude.

When I first read the book and got to that part I was like "what the heck is going on". So you're not alone on that

I found him to be slightly sketchy at first.

Same! I was thinking, this doesn't seem like a Psychological thriller, it seems like it's becoming Fantasy, but I'm not sure how I'm liking that transition.

I always though it was urban fantasy! But I might be wrong

Same here!! I was really enjoying the book as a psychological thriller, but in the middle for a while it got way too contemporary (all of the high school scenes were boring me to death), and then when things turned paranormal... I don't know, I don't want to say that I was disappointed exactly, but since it wasn't what I was expecting out of the series it just wasn't what I wanted to read about.

Okay so I just started the first book and I'm 67 pages in and LOVING IT so far!! How have I never read this series before? I love Daniel and all I want is to know what happened that night!!!
