Pᴇʀsᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ﹕

Freyja has been recorded even by the mortals as the kindest of all the gods and goddesses. Of all of the Aesir and Vanir she is the most likely to respond to prayers, whether with advice or a gift. As such she is probably the favorite, thanks to her generosity with everyone, even when it comes to mortals. Generally she is fairly gentle around other people, more soft and delicate than most would assume. She actually aknowledges species other than the gods, helping them out whenever she can. After all, she remembers being on the outside with the Vanir and looking into the Aesir. Like her brother, Freyja bridges the gap between the Aesir and Vanir and is trying to do so with the other species.

Even with her less than pure habits, she doesn't care what their species is. After all, in terms of almost all of the species she's incredibly attractive. And willing to take advantage of that. She was once accused of sleeping with all of the gods and all of the elves, which of course is an exaggeration, but wouldn't be a surprising assumption given her somewhat slutty habits. Being hit on is normal and natural for her, but her least favorite thing is when people just assume that since she's slept with a lot of people, she automatically has to sleep with them as well.

Her habits have a realistic basis, however. Freyja is the goddess of love, of course. That is well known. But a goddess of love whose husband is never home, who barely visits her, who comes home for a day just to abandon her again... It's understandable to most why she sleeps around. She's incredibly lonely in many different ways, but even the amount of people she sleeps with doesn't make her feel any less alone. This is a goddess who literally cries tears of gold every time her husband leaves, because she knows he won't come back for years, and she knows that he doesn't care about her enough to be affected by that. She doesn't truly love him, not anymore, but she still cares for him. And she knows he'll never love her.

Still, Freyja will always love her family. Maybe not her husband, but her goddess daughters and any demigod children she has she tries to remain a part of their life. In reality, Freyja just wants a happy ending. She just doesn't think it will ever happen for her. So she does everything she can to try and help others with theirs.

She will never be the heartbreaker type. Her one night stands know exactly who and how she is and there's no promises about a relationship. It's just one night, and both parties know that going in. It's not uncommon for her to keep in touch with people that she sleeps with, becoming friends or friends with benefits with them.

But Freyja is not just the goddess of love, beauty, and sex. It can be easy to forget, but this is also the goddess of war and death. In battle she is one of the most vicious opponents anyone could run into. She is not cruel and doesn't try to cause unnecessary death or pain, but she is completely and utterly ruthless, in exact opposite to her general kindness. In battle and out of it she is clever and knows exactly how to get what she wants, whether through threats or her looks.

Freyr is generally thought to be a peaceful god and he is, everything he does is too work towards peace for the realms but the forgot, he isn't an elf, peace isn't the only thing in his nature. Like most of the Aesir and Vanir he is more than capable of being violent despite not being a war god. Its just unlike most of his brethren he tries to supress these violent tendencies as they are counterproductive to his goals; most of the time as he knows sometimes violence is necessary to protect his people from those who would seek to harm them.

As a leader, Freyr knows how to make those difficult calls others struggle with but that doesn't mean he doesn't feel guilty when making a call in battle that costs the lives of his men. He is also extremely intelligent and not much gets past him as he has to be observant in his day to day dealings with other species who may be trying to win one over on him. He also lives by the motto don't trust anybody when it comes to his own people, he doesn't even trust his own sister when it comes to their safety and will always put them first no matter the circumstance.

For the most part, Hel just wants to be left alone. She's used to the quiet of her kingdom, and she's grown accustomed to it. There's no reason for her to want to go out of her way to talk to people. Honestly, she kind of just doesn't care about anything. She's pretty indifferent, even apathetic, about most things. She just doesn't care a lot anymore. But stuck in her kingdom for forever, she's usually bored. Despite being thought of as this fearsome goddess, that's always a front. It's best for her reputation to keep up the ferocious appearances, but usually she stays with her more normalized, full human appearance. Napping on her throne isn't unusual, given that she's generally alone.

Not that it bothers her. She enjoys her time alone, being so used to it. Still, she does enjoy when she has visitors to talk to. She just has no need for it. Being independent is second or even first nature for her, she's never had to rely on anyone before and never will. She enjoys visits she gets, as rare as they are. People assume she's his angry, murderous goddess when in reality it takes a lot to get her mad. But when she is angered, she can be incredibly vicious and vengeful. She's not cruel, she just doesn't go out of her way to be kind and she can be merciless when necessary. But usually she's incredibly patient, willing to just take a nap as she waits.

Despite longing to see other places, Hel has long since resigned herself to the fact that she will never be able to see the other realms. She's trapped, unable to ever leave Niflheim or Helheim. She's accepted that and is no longer angry at the other gods, just vaguely bitter. After all, she never gets a say in anything despite having control of two realms. She's not there to give her opinion, and no one goes out of their way to get hers.

Because of that near isolation, she just doesn't know what to do around living people. She forgets their limitations, having to remind herself constantly that the things that are normal to her would kill a normal person, even a god. But she enjoys her visitors, even if they are usually just begging for loved ones back. But she's no fool. She doesn't let people back to life, that would upset the balance. Still, she's not heartless. After all, she allows Draugrs to be created. Most of the time she'll let the requests down easy, but the instant they turn into demands... then she has a problem.

Hel has always been clever, but the main reason she was perfect for her role was her character judgement. With her eye she can see all the truths of a person, discern any lie and learn what she needs to know. Then she deals with it accordingly, deciding which of the nine levels of Helheim to condemn the soul to. Still, she grows bored with it easily, trusting the judgement of most to a few lieutenants and just checking up on their work at the end of the week, occasionally deciding to help for a day. Every once in a while she will check the nine levels, seeing if anyone needs to be moved.

Hel's birth was nothing unusual. Loki had many children, more were no surprise. She was even the most normal of her family, given that her siblings were a wolf and a giant serpent. Compared to that, being born literally half dead was nothing. Still, none of them fit in with any of the other gods. They stuck out, and all three of them did what they could to avoid the normal gods. Hel didn't see her family much, but she was still content. The nine realms were all fascinating to her, and she wanted to see all of them. But no one trusted any of the three, and they knew they weren't normal.

A prophecy about three siblings that would cause a lot of damage surfaced, and was traced back to them, unfortunately. The distrust that was already there bubbled over, and Odin ordered them to stay in Asgard, close so he could keep an eye on them. Fenrir and Jormungandr could both become normal looking if they wanted, but Hel still didn't have any control over what she looked like. She was human enough she didn't truly have a human form to change into, but inhuman enough she still was considered 'wrong' by the others. She was kind of pushed to the side, personally ignored. But she could hear the whispers about that half-dead girl, and she knew that she would never fit in. Hel had no need to fit in, but she wanted to explore all of the realms. How could she do that when everyone taunted her?

Still, Odin had his tasks to attend to. He couldn't spend his time babysitting three people. Even though they hadn't really done anything, there was the prophecy to worry about. Jormungandr was sent to the oceans of Midgard, Fenrir was chained, and Odin banished Hel to Helheim. Then, all the dead were in Niflheim. There was no one to decide to put them anywhere else, and so she was literally the only being in the whole realm at first. Logically, she understood it. They didn't trust her because of her parentage and appearance, it was best for everyone.

That didn't mean she was happy with it. She was incredibly lonely, but tried to not blame them. Eventually, Odin felt bad since she hadn't done anything, and granted her lordship of Helheim and the ability to decide where dead souls were assigned. Her control was spread out to Niflheim, and although she didn't exactly have friends or family, she had some company in the spirits. She began to build her home, setting everything up neatly. Elivdnir, her halls, were build in the very center of Helheim.

When Baldr died, he was of course sent to Hel. Being a god he was unique, and Hel came to enjoy his company, allowing him to stay in Elivdnir. But when Hermor was sent to bring him back she refused. She allowed him to stay with his brother for a night, but she was not going to allow him to bring Baldr back to life and disrupt the balance. At last she agreed to a certain extent, telling Hermor to tell Frigga that if every living soul mourned Baldr, she would let him go back to the realm of the living. But Loki wouldn't mourn, and so Hel was true to her word and didn't let him return.

When Hod had his son, Garm, of course Hel drew the parallels between the wolf-child and her own brother. Just like she had been with Fenrir, she was made to chain up the poor child despite her protests. Still, just like with Fenrir she did everything she could to help him, visiting him frequently and telling him of what was happening with the others.

She doesn't know about the gods and goddesses, doesn't believe in magic. Why would she? She's good at reading people and making them feel better, but why would she think it was anything different? Still, she is kind of nerdy. She likes stupid little games, enjoys watching stereotypically nerdy shows. Still, she's not your cliche dork. She also does gymnastics, and has grown rather good at it. She's a bit jumpy, not from any dramatic history, but she's just easily startled.
She's cute, and she knows it. But she doesn't do anything about it. She doesn't wear her clothes to impress people, she wears them because she likes them and she knows she can pull them off. But because she just doesn't care, she'll wear anything she wants. And with that, lots of people tend to think that she's an easy lay. Only the opposite is true. Cherry isn't going to wait for true love or anything like that, but she is determined to not just be one in a long string of girls. She's good at reading intentions, and she knows when people are just there to sleep with her. Of course, with this determination, it's probably not surprising that she tends to get dumped a lot. Of course she's upset about that, but she isn't going to let people change her mind on her morals. But she is a bit wary about dating in general now. She's used to being hit on when she goes to bars and clubs, and she either ignores it or comes up with a sarcastic response in return.

He was attractive enough he could get any girl he wanted. But none of that was why Hlin liked him. She choose him because he was a therapist. And as goddess of consolation, she liked someone who made a living helping people feel better. When she ended up pregnant, she knew exactly who the father was and sent the baby to live with her father. Thad married a woman named Lea when Cherry was three, and she adored her new mom. She grew up with all the best stuff and only the best stuff. She went to a private prep school, uniform and everything. She got anything and everything she wanted.
When she wanted to go to gymnastics, she was allowed to join gymnastics, where she excelled. All the other girls in it quickly figured out that she was rich, however. Rather quickly their interest in genuine friendship shifted and changed until they were only friends with her for the monetary benefits. Unfortunately, it took years for her to notice and she ditched her fake friends. But that didn't leave her with any. She did well in school under the threat of having her money pulled out, and eventually started saving her money. She got a boyfriend to try and have some company, but realized after a month he was only in it to try and hook up with her. Immediately she ditched him, but unfortunately it only sealed her reputation. With being attractive but never having slept with anyone, it became the goal of almost every boy in school to be the one she hooked up with. No one was mean to her or anything, but she knew that the boys only thought of her as someone to hit on. It was a relief when she graduated highschool. She got a penthouse suite when she graduated that she currently lives in, occasionally going to nightclubs with friends.
