Allyson, I really like all these nominations. I especially like Snow Flower and the Secret Fan.

Christine I also really like Allyson's nominations of The Cider House Rules and Lady Chatterley's Lover! Both are on my TBR shelf, and I would love to read them with a group. I just read Snow Flower and the Secret Fan a few weeks ago and it is great, but I probably would vote for one of the other nominees for China that I haven't read yet. Great choices, everyone!

Angie Reisetter | 115 comments For China, I'd like to nominate Life and Death are Wearing Me Out by Mo Yan . I haven't read it, but it's been on my to-read list for a while. It's by a Chinese Nobel Prize winner in literature, and it has great reviews. I'd love to read and discuss it with this group.
