I deleted my response, since I miss understood the article.

I think the program is based on a long running show on BBC Radio called Desert Island Discs. They ask a celebrity to choose music they'd take to a desert island, like Gilligan's Island.

They also get a set of Shakespeare and a Bible and get to choose one luxury.
