1. Be part of the fun! But this is a challenge so it is fine to design a task that is challenging. Aim for balance.

2. Submit your task within 5 days after notification.

3. Non-book activities may be included as optional activities.

4. Proofread your task carefully within 3 days after posting and let us know if anything needs to be corrected.

5. Monitor the TASK HELP thread for your task.
Delegate the responsibility to respond to questions to someone if you will not be available every day for the first two weeks after the task is posted and in the final two weeks of the challenge or for more than 5 days during the rest of the challenge.

One of the moderators will respond to questions that go unanswered for 2 days in the first two weeks after the task is posted and in the final two weeks of the challenge OR for more than 5 days later in the challenge.

Moderator decisions cannot be overruled or modified by the Task Creator (or designee).

6. Do not create requirements or restrictions in the Task Help thread that are not included in the TASK DESCRIPTION. Only the TASK DESCRIPTION will be used to determine requirements. TASK HELP thread comments should be used to clarify the stated requirements and any additional requirements expressed in the help thread will be interpreted as preferences.

7. No “free choice” options will be allowed. This is a challenge, so tasks that have no element of challenge do not fit the purpose. We do include one free choice task, 5.10, for the book that just does not fit anywhere else. Similarly, it is not acceptable to have a task that appears to have parameters that can be moderated, but that is interpreted in the help thread to be essentially free choice. There must be a defined requirement of some sort that can be assessed by the moderators.

8. Tasks may have no more than 6 options TOTAL.

9. Task creators may allow the use of one book with a main page genre of comics, manga, etc. that fit the general SRC requirements per task. This must be specified in the initial task description.

Task creators may exclude children’s books entirely for use in their tasks. Unless children's books are excluded specifically, their use is allowed as long as they satisfy general SRC requirements.

Since this is not a challenge geared to children, no task can require the use of children's books, without options for adult readers.

10. Task requirements:

20 point tasks – maximum of 1 book
25 and 30 point tasks – 2 books or
1 book that meets a page minimum of at least 500 pages

The 50 point task will require:
1. 3 options.
2. One book per option.
3. Three books totaling at least 750 pages.
4. No books with the genres children or kids on the main book page may be used.
5. Books whose main page lists any of these genres: Sequential Art, Comics, Comic Book, or Manga may not be used.
6. No “free choice” options will be allowed. This is a challenge, so tasks that have no element of challenge do not fit the purpose.
7. A task must be accessible to the majority of players, i.e. not limited to a specific format, edition, publisher, etc. and reviewable by the moderators.

Task creators may choose to also require a minimum page requirement for the task, or may require a specified minimum page requirement without requiring a specific number of books. In that case, the task should require

20 point tasks - no more than 400 pages
25 and 30 point tasks - no more than 800 pages

For example, a 25 or 30 point task creator may require
- up to 2 books to be read, OR
- one book of at least 500 pages
- up to 800 pages to be read, regardless of number of books, OR
- may require 2 books to be read with the additional requirement that each book be at least a specific number of pages or that the total pages of the 2 books combined must be at least a specific number of pages.

The 50 point task has a 3-book 750 page threshold, but the task creator may require a number of pages up to 1200.
