That works, but make sure to get it approved for children's.

That works. :)

Both work.

I'm going to accept that one because it's obvious that it's a close up of a single grave. Enjoy!

Thank you! I spend so much time on that site. The world is so, so big.

Thanks :)

I can't say yes to this one. It's not clear enough that it's a grave and not a memorial or decorative statue from the picture on the cover.

(The first one was too short for the two-book total, so I switched to this one.)

Checking on these 2 for cemetery please!

I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Going to have to say no on the first one, but absolutely yes on the second. The Sinner isn't 100% clear enough it's a grave - it could also be an entrance to a deserted church or something.

That works.
It means that it can't be a 'waterfall' made by someone pouring water out of a cup or something. :)

Confirmed and thank you!

The series has already been approved above. Enjoy.

That will work because it appears the right part of the waterfall is still in motion and unfrozen. :) At least, that is the impression that the mist gives. Enjoy!

I'm a TOTAL fan of traveling, and especially the site Atlas Obscura that explores and celebrate those obscure, interesting, and totally awesome places in the world that you never knew you wanted to visit. My mother, brother, and I make sure to travel at least once a year together to share the world and those experiences inherent in travel that we can enjoy together.
My mom's motto is, "I am going to leave you kids with memories - not things."
For this task, I've hit random place six times on the site to discover six new places, and have built the tasks around them.
Read 1 book from each of 2 different options. REQUIRED: Indicate in your post which options you are using.
Minimum page count for the two books combined is 600 pages.
NOTE: ebooks without print versions cannot be used for tasks requiring a specific number of pages. If you read an ebook or audiobook use the page count for the mass market paperback if one exists. If there is no mass market paperback edition, use the paperback edition and if no paperback is available use the hardcover edition.
1. The Thompson Ice House Harvesting Museum - Thompson Ice House Harvesting Museum
In 1826, Asa Thompson dammed a small brook from natural springs on his property and created Thompson Pond. Initially, he cut ice for his farm, but soon his neighbors wanted some, so he began a commercial ice business. Soon after, he built an ice house for storage of this sought-after commodity. Thompson Pond ice was sought after by local fishermen, yachtsmen, refrigerated trucks transporting shellfish, local and summer residents and even people who just wanted to make ice cream. Five generations of the Thompson family and two private contractors ran the ice business until 1985.
For this option, read a book with one of 55 words for snow in the title or subtitle. This list is from FIFTY-FIVE ENGLISH WORDS FOR SNOW.
The title/subtitle word must match exactly. No variations work. If the list includes a phrase (i.e. "snow bank"), the entire phrase must be found in the title/subtitle of the book.
2. Kravice Waterfalls - Kravice Waterfalls- Plunging from cliffs as high as 83 feet into a natural, watery amphitheater that is almost 500 feet across, the series of waterfalls at Kravice are nestled in a natural reserve southwest of the city of Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
For this task, read a book with a waterfall on the cover. This must be a waterfall found in nature, but it need not be as massive as Kravice Waterfalls! REQUIRED: Include the cover in your post.
3. Kakira Imigongo Cooperative - Kakira Imigongo Cooperative- For generations, cow dung has been used to create a striking and truly unique art form found only in Rwanda, called imigongo. Despite the rather unconventional medium, the characteristic colorful geometric patterns of traditional imigongo paintings would fit right in with most modern decor.
For this task, read a book set completely in Africa or written by an author born in Africa. If the African connection isn't clear on the book's main page or author's Goodreads profile, please provide a link or reference from the book that establishes the setting or author's birthplace.
4. Calistoga Pioneer Cemetery - Calistoga Pioneer Cemetary- This historic California cemetery holds the bodies of veterans of both the Civil War and the Donner Party
For this task, read a book with a single grave or cemetery on the cover. REQUIRED: Include the cover in your post.
5. Territorio de Zaguates (Land of Strays) - Land of Strays - One rescue is different—up in the mountains, Territorio de Zaguates celebrates the unique mix of each dog it takes in. Veterinarians at the free-range shelter did their best to analyze the mutts’ physical traits to take a guess at the breeds they might contain. They then gave each dog their own unique pedigree, with names like the “Furry Pinscher Spaniel” and the “Freckled Terrierhuahua.” An inspired artist painted beautiful portraits of the pedigreed mutts.
For this task, read a book with the main page genre of Dogs, Animals, or Wolves. Can be embedded or standalone.
6. Green Island Human Rights Culture Park - Green Island Human Rights Cultural Park- A memorial to the thousands of political dissidents imprisoned during the 38-year period of martial law in Taiwan.
For this task, read a book from this list: Popular Social Justice Books. The book must have been shelved as "social justice" at least 10 times.
REQUIRED: Include in your post the page # of the list on which your book is found.
