Emily (emilyesears) | 604 comments Finished Tender Is the Night for my first read of 2017. Unfortunately, it was only 2 stars. I just did not care about the characters or the plot. I skimmed a lot of it. But it's been on my TBR since 2012, so I'm glad to get it off of there!

Emily (emilyesears) | 604 comments My January book count is 14! 4 graphic novels, 1 small book of poetry, 1 small collection of short stories, 3 middle-grade fantasy books, 1 nonfiction, and 4 adult fiction.

I know it's only January 27, but the only book I'm reading now is a 600-page chunker that I would be really surprised if I finished before February 1st.

I read a lot the few weeks of January because I was off school, but now I'm back in session so my school reading has taken up a lot of reading time the past 2 weeks. Also, reading graphic novels and short books tends to push the number up.

I really want to read more nonfiction (only 1 for the month appalls me!) and I would like to read more of the books that have been on my TBR for 2+ years instead of going for newer additions or picking up books that aren't on my TBR at all.

Emily (emilyesears) | 604 comments My February book count is 8 books! 3 nonfiction, 1 memoir, 1 YA book, and 3 historical fiction books.

School picked up a bit, so I had less time to read. I also did not read any graphic novels this month.

I have 7 books on my March TBR, and I'm looking forward to all of them!

Emily (emilyesears) | 604 comments I finished 9 books in July, mostly due to participating in Booktubeathon. There was 1 classic, 2 YA, 3 contemporary, 1 historical fiction, and 2 nonfiction. I upped my yearly goal to 78 books and I'm on track to meet it.

Emily (emilyesears) | 604 comments I read 8 books in August. 2 YA, 3 literary fiction, 2 nonfiction, 1 general fiction. I also met my yearly page count this month woohoo! Of course, now I'm in school so my reading will probably slack off.

Emily (emilyesears) | 604 comments I read 7 books in September, but most of them were shorter so only 1,448 pages read. I read 2 religious nonfiction, 2 memoirs, 1 feminist nonfiction, 1 juvenile historical fiction, and 1 adult contemporary fiction.

I upped my reading goal to 90 books. I have 19 books left to read to meet all my reading challenges. If I read all 19, I'll have read 91 for the year.

Emily (emilyesears) | 604 comments I read 5 books in October and finished another on November 1st. I read 1 mystery, 1 historical fiction, 2 nonfiction, and 1 historical romance.

I need to read 12 more books to meet my TBR goal.

message 23: by Emily (new)

Emily (emilyesears) | 604 comments I read 7 books in November: 2 memoirs, 5 nonfictions.

I need to read 5 more to meet my goal and I have 6 on my December TBR, so I'm definitely on track to met my goals and challenges!

Emily (emilyesears) | 604 comments All right, I have finished updating my 2017 page. My stats are:

94 books read
27,360 pages read
My most-read genre was nonfiction with 29 books + 9 biography/memoirs.
I completed all the challenges I signed up for.
I started the year with 134 books on my TBR and ended with 149 books, so I didn't do very well on the goal of reducing my TBR.

I'll be at my 2018 corner--Emily's Wicked Cool Corner
