I think Tatiana Maslany would be an excellent choice for Myfanwy! Great pick.

Oddly enough, the one character I can picture most clearly in my mind is Grantchester, but I don't know who could play him today - that particular brand of smarmy playboy-ish-ness seems to have died out by the early 80s. I would've suggested Roger Rees, but it turns out he passed away last year, so I guess I'm stuck with my pre-edit suggestion of Tom Cruise.

Oh, and we might as well cast Benedict Cumberbatch as Alrich, put his weird face to some good use :P

I like Sarah Michelle Gellar for Myfanwy. She could play a ditzy character but then go to the other side with the all the fighting easily. She's played twins convincingly so the same character two different ways should be just as good. Except she doesn't have an English accent. Or maybe she would be better as Cheyenne (not sure of spelling I'm listening to the audio) the American bishop.

I was thinking of Minne Driver for Ingrid.

I think Neil McDonough would be good as one of the Gestalt people. He always gives me the creeps.

2 things about that: 1) considering that this book was written by an Australian man in America and really doesn't feel very British at all, I don't think we need to pay close attention to people's accents. I certainly haven't.
2) Yeah, thing about that is, Shantay is black. Like, he's very explicit about that. He may have drooled a little when he wrote what a beautiful black woman she is. Be a bit awkward to cast one of the whitest white persons in pop culture memory in her role ;)

That's funny because I had Cumberbatch in mind for Aldrich as well, but had Pierce Brosan visualized as Grantchester. I like Daniel Craig for some of Gestalt

Brosnan works. I'd just pictured him as a 60s sportscoat-and-turtleneck type, because of the room.
