Yes I know its a little early, but I think it would be good to get our New Year nominations and poll done before everything goes a bit crazy for christmas/holidays.

Have at it!

Stephanie | 6 comments I just finished the final book in Daniel Abrahams, the Dagger and the Coin series. First book was the Dragons Path. I'm listening to them all over again now. Just incredible

Is that a nomination?

message 8: by Igor (new)

Igor Ljubuncic (igorljubuncic) | 28 comments I always go back to my good ole Paul Kearney's - The Monarchies of God. Classic fireside grimdarkness. You will need the fire to warm your soul.
Igor

Sure, I guess I'll go ahead and nominate The Dragon's Path by Daniel Abraham https://www.amazon.com/Dragons-Path-D...

message 11: by Silvana (new)

Silvana (silvaubrey) ^

and I will second that!

Love his SF work so I am eager to try the fantasy one.

message 12: by Andrew (new)

Andrew I'll third it. Abraham's Long Price Quartet is one of my favorite series, and I've been looking for a good excuse to start reading his Dagger and Coin books.

message 13: by Dezideriu (new)

Dezideriu Szabo | 3 comments Mirror's Truth by Michael R. Fletcher. The first book was absolute dark and mind blowing .

Ok so far we have:

The Grey Bastards by Jonathan French
The Grim Company by Luke Scull
The Dragon's Path by Daniel Abraham
Shadow Of The Wolf by Chris Carlsen
The Mirror’s Truth by Michael R. Fletcher
Hawkwood's Voyage by Paul Kearney (I'm assuming this is the one you meant Igor?)

The Gap Into Conflict: The Real Story by Stephen R. Donaldson is Science Fiction, any objections to including it in the poll?

I will be closing the nomination thread on Sunday 11th December.

message 15: by Reon (new)

Reon I nominate Heroes Die

How do you guys feel about self-nominations? Got a member asking and we don't have any guidelines on it. What do you guys think?

message 17: by Silvana (new)

Silvana (silvaubrey) we already have lots of nominations so self nom might be better saved for march/april. could be even exclusive for self nom only to avoid competition with the big names.

message 18: by Chris (new)

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 25 comments I like the idea of an exclusive month for self-noms.

Though if you allow them against the big names, they probably won't win but might get a little exposure, that wouldn't hurt them.

I'm sorry Brian, that is the third book in the series. You can nominate either the first in the series (unless we have read book 1 already) or a stand alone. Feel free to nominate something else.

Nomination rules here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Oh. Just read the rules. I'd like to nominate The Judging Eye but how do I know you haven't read that already? Is there a list somewhere?
