*Pick different years for J, Q, & K at the start of the challenge and these will stay the same for the rest of the year. Yes, this will mean that you are repeating a year from the A to 10 list but I'm sure you know your TBR better to know which year/s you added more books on your TBR than other year so that particular set will need more help to be moved :)

NOTE: I know most of us probably will not have been with GR right at the beginning (2007) and will also probably not have any books left on our TBR from 2008 or maybe even 2009 (I think I have a handful of books left I added in 2008) so if you don't have a book added within a certain year to fit in the band of author's surname, it will be FREE CHOICE of read as long as;
1. author's surname still within initial bands as detailed above;
2. book has been on your TBR prior to 1 January 2017

12 books (12 characters in 'PICK-A-SHELF')
26 books (26 letters)
52 books (52 cards in a deck)

yeah - so if I bought it in 2012, then it does on my lost-on-tbr for my exclusive shelf and then year purchased and where from for the sub-shelf

haha! books bought in earlier years that I never shelved on GR and i'm trying to now :)

I'm confused (haha, normal for me!).
If I understand it correctly, first I figure out the dates to be used, where needed.
Then, if I choose to read 12 books for the year, I draw 12 cards. If one card is a black 6, for example, then I would have to read a book put on my TBR in 2016 with an author surname M-Z to complete the requirment.
