E.M. Swift-Hook | 3487 comments I have noticed that those new to our group sometimes struggle with finding the correct link to post to their Amazon reviews.

I just put this advice up in my own group and thought it might be something worth sharing more widely so anyone who is not sure can find it and other mods can link this post to advise anyone in their own groups who needs to know.

To get a direct link to the review click on the title of your review and it will take you to that reviews's exclusive page.

You can also get the direct link by clicking on the link offered in the emails Amazon sends out to say it has accepted the review.

General word of advice to all new to posting Amazon links: always remove the search chains of letters and numbers which follow the main link. The main link on these reviews finishes with the word 'review/' and a string of capitalized letters and numbers followed by / or ? . The end of the letter/number string is the end of the direct link!

Oh - and it is a good idea to copy and paste the links you plan to post into your browser and check they work and are the right ones, before you post them. ;)

Hope this helps any who have issues!

Welcome to Goodreads!

It is totally unnecessary to do links like this, but it you are so inclined and have yet to be initiated into the mystery, this is how it is done:

At the top of the box you put a new post in it says (some html is ok). If you click it you see a list of the html you can use in your posts here. Just Copy/paste the top item on the list of that which is:

< a href="http://www.goodreads.com">my link text< /a >

Please note I inserted extra spaces so it shows up. ;)

Insert your own link instead of http://www.goodreads.com. Be sure to keep the " " at either end and to include the http:// part of the link.

The word you want to show up for the link goes in the bit that says: my link text .

Again, do check the links work before posting them.

Jonathan Lewis | 64 comments Awesome! I love how Goodreads doesn't dumb it down for us. Learning the actual hmtl is only slightly harder than learning to use some pre-fabricated link maker would be.
