Hi all! I’m Nat Kennedy.

I cut my teeth on fantasy. I find life to edge on dull (quiet and dull isn’t so bad), so I like to read about magic. Then I began writing about magic. The world became far more colorful. Now, I write gay fantasy with erotic tendencies. I’ve urban fantasy, high fantasy, and dark fantasy all in the works. My books are all somewhat romantic in subtheme, but they aren’t really romances. Love meets Plot… what a tasty mixture!

Currently I’ve three books out in an urban fantasy series called the Wielder World. In this world women can Wield the magic and are thought positively for it, men, however, are spurned for having the magic because it brings out Taint and Corruption in them.

They are:
Edge of Desperation which follows professor Reggie Wolfe, who is an in the closet gay man and an in the closet Wielder and how he saves a young male Wielder, Kyle Landon, from an evil cult, only to have Kyle go to the cult for emo reasons. Reggie goes to smack some sense into him, and save Kyle again, of course.

Center of Deception follows August Whalen, a bar owner and smuggler and closet male Wielder, though he's openly bi. He's pulled into the whole cult mess Kyle was in the first book. The cult wants him and will do what it can to pull him in. The two books cover the same timeline and some of the same events, but from separate points of view. August befriends Kyle and then meets Reggie and finds him pretty keen as well.

Afflicted to the Core mixes all three men, plus Reggie's sister, Bethany, in a high stakes thriller. The government is kidnapping people and these guys will do anything to protect each other. I mean, anything.

In my novels, men find each other pretty keen. It's a theme.


I’m friendly! And I like to do ourdoorsy things. I could easily be an elf, but CB Archer already took that title, so I guess I’d go with cat girl as my fall back. Or green witch: my cauldron is my laptop. I really enjoy the writing world and have made some awesome friends here and look forward to making more.

We should start an urban fantasy cabal and take over the world! Muahahahaha. (or not. that might get a little boring if all writing was urban fantasy. Where would we put the picture books of cat girls and knife wielding bunnies?)

And Nat, CB might be the king of the Elves, but nothing stops you from being the Queen. :) And there are so many different races of elves. You wouldn't even have to meet. :P

Hi Alexis! It's good to see you here!

This is a good question, and in a way I'm struggling to put it down into words. I write gay erotic fantasy mainly because I love reading it and want to create the thing I love. There's excitement on all levels! I enjoy the aspects of world building with the fantasy genre and having this total control over that magical element I've created. Maybe I'm a control freak. ;) Fantasy was what got me into reading when I was younger. Just perfect escapism.

I enjoy writing gay romance/erotica because, though there is quite a bit of it out there now, it's underrepresented. Plus, I find heterosexual romances to be 'normal' because it's my life (as a straight woman), and just like I writing/reading fantasy, I want to write/read about relationships that are different from my every day.

And erotica because, well, everyone needs some hot steamy moments in their reading... if that's their thing. It's my thing, so yeah, I'll write that down!

And really, bottom line, two fantasy men, a warrior and a mage, for example, embracing in a lovely heated kiss. Yeah, that's my thing too. ;)

I think I do okay. It's hard to scrutinize your own writing sometimes. Most gay erotica authors I know are all women, too. And most of the readers of gay erotica are women too. It' interesting. But I've received no complaints so far from people who have read my erotica.

The books I've published so far are pre-relationship so there's no sex, just to let you know.

I'm amused that I came across as a guy. Often I've been told I'm 'one of the boys' so I guess that fits. :)
