2-3-4 Challenge discussion

Let's also work together to acknowledge getting up to date in our series! It's as big a deal as completing one.

Here's how it works.

1. You can find the challenge here or on our group home page.
2. After selecting the challenge, complete the information requested, including the number of series where you plan to get up to date in 2017 (it says books here but for this challenge, think series). Where it asks for a shelf name, type in your profile name. Save the information.
3. Go to your shelf and edit "bookshelves." Type in "250 up to date" (without the quotes) and then select "Add." This will be the shelf you'll use to track your progress (more to come).
4. Return to the group home page and select "update my entry" and add the shelf name as follows: 250-up-to-date
5. Click "Save."
6. You've now entered the challenge!

Now, how do you track your series progress?
Whenever you read the last book in a series that you now consider up to date, add that book to your 250-up-to-date shelf. It will be included in the challenge results.

(If an author of one of your series releases another book during the year and you don't read the new book by December 31, 2017, you'll need to remove the last book you read from the 250 up to date shelf.)

Not sure if this is really a problem or not. My books are adding to my challenge but when I want to view the books I've read towards the challenge it's not there

Should I really be worried about this if the number of books I've read is correct

This is a bug that was reported to GR at least two weeks ago so they're aware. We received a message today that they are still working on it.

In the meantime, the count is correct even though the cover display is not.

You're welcome. That reread update seemed to have knocked a number of things out of whack.

It seems you win some you knock your head against the wall. And all the time we wish that they'd pay this much attention to the app.

I added another book to my up-to-date challenge since they changed the date of the new book to january 2018.
And I just noticed that we are almost at our target of 250 series up-to date: only 12 more series to go :)

It looks like it's still at 250, but I think it's my fault the total dropped since yesterday. I had mistakenly added ALL books in the series I've been reading, rather than just the latest in each. So I deleted a bunch yesterday including a good number I've already finished.

Yes, I added one recently because the expected publication date was moved from October to February. I hope to still catch up two more series before the year is complete!

Yes I set my goal at seven and I reached it, and I still have plans to complete one more series in December!

With just over a month to go to the end of the year I want to finish the challenge. These are the series that I've completed. I did get up to date on others but they didn't count for my own challenge as there will be more books to come.

Well done. Robin and Melissa. I read 20 books that got me up to date with a series, but then some of these pesky authors have written a new one since! I guess my job is never done! 😂

I only got 2 out of 7 up-to-date for 2017, mainly due to my misunderstanding mentioned above. I was near the beginning of some long series and didn't really expect to get caught up on most of them. But I did make a lot of progress and should definitely get caught up in 2018 on all the series I'm currently reading, plus a couple shorter ones I haven't started yet.

Is there any need to keep the shelves we created for the 2017 challenges?

I was able to get up to date on 11 series in 2017. Not too bad.
