Sarah | 3915 comments You may pick as many as you like, whether it's as little as 3 or all 20. You could even do the whole thing twice if your TBR is that badly in need of thinning.

This can be modified for owned books as well. For the 56th book you can start at the left of your collection and count 56 to the right or download the 56th book on your ereader. Feel free to do a mix of goodreads and owned TBR. We can stay flexible and make it fit each of us.

This is not just for Sci-Fi and Fantasy, you can choose anything that's in your TBR, even if it's something like non-fiction or a children's book.

1. The 56th book
2. A Translated book
3. A book with a one word title
4. A book set in a different country from your own
5. Award winner
6. A book by an author whose first or last name begins with the letter T
7. Less than 200 pages
8. A book you added in your birth month
9. A 2017 release
10. With the color green on the cover or in the title
11. Your favorite subgenre
12. A book that starts with the same letter as your first name
13. Sort by isbn and choose the first book that has an isbn number
14. Highest average rating
15. A book by an author you've never read
16. A book more than 10 years old
17. Has been on your TBR for more than two years
18. A friend gave it 5 stars
19. Based on cover love
20. A bestseller

Some of these, like the isbn, are not ones that you typically find when you look at your TBR in My Books. If you click on the settings link in the upper right hand area you can choose the columns that show. This will work for num pages, isbn, and date pub.

Here is the very special link that will allow you to set up a bookshelf and track it that way.

I won't be using that, because I don't want to deal with another shelf or another place to keep track. Hope it's ok to just update my list, above, as the year goes on.

Krazykiwi | 105 comments Same as on the other challenge, I signed up for 12. I have learnt to be a little more conservative with challenges, or they start to feel a bit too much like work, so I give up. I figure one a month I can definitely do though, and hopefully with this one, even more since most of my TBR are books I already actually own!

Michael | 1303 comments Okay, so I sorted my to-read list by #, and there is no 56. I am in a Twilight Zone episode? I guess I can just count 56 down, but it seems a bit surreal to me that numbers would be missing...

Thanks, Sarah Anne, but I mean it literally goes from 55 to 57. There is also no #18, and two #31's. I didn't think that was possible, but clearly the sortable lists are not always being cleaned up when we edit them...

message 46: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 3915 comments Hmm... I think if you click in the window for one of the numbers a pop-up appears that says something like "save positions". That usually fixes that one.

I had tried changing one of the 31's to 18 and that cleared it up (probably because I pushed the Save Positions button as Sarah Anne suggested). Thanks, all! Although now I kind of miss my impossible chronology...

Michael | 1303 comments I'm enjoying looking at everyone's lists, but it is dangerous - I added three more to my TBR list! Challenge backfire!

I like how some titles get onto people's lists under different categories. And I like that 6 people have chosen Seveneves as their one-word title.

Edwin, I don't see you listed on the challenge page. Maybe not everyone is tracking it there?
